Their AI Phone service will tell you to come in even if you’re late and that it WILL NOT cancel your appointment. But when you get there, they will tell you they’re too backed up and they have to cancel it. Shitty service. If you actually had someone that can actually pick up the phone, I could’ve saved my time rather than driving all the way there and you wouldn’t be losing customers to a shitty AI program!

After developing a serious windshield crack from a truck’s road stone, I contacted Safelite AutoGlass for repair. They provided timely service, delivered in a courteous and professional manner. I am very happy with the work done, and I recommend them strongly to anyone needing windshield repair.

BUYER BEWARE OF AFTERMARKET GLASS What Safelite failed to inform me of is that the aftermarket glass they use is subpar for some manufacturers (including Honda) and the windshield camera/sensors are then unable to be recalibrated. I took it to Honda as advised for recalibration, only to be told it will be 2.5 service hours (~$500) out of pocket with no guarantee and a 30-40% failure rate due to aftermarket glass.

Went from bad to worse - inability to communicate and schedule coupled with a clear bait & switch business model that encourages after market parts without notification. Situation - brand new car took a rock to the windshield that cracked it and required full replacement. Schedule Appointment - at first all was fine. I used the website to select my car model, enter VIN, so they could locate the exact glass needed for the replacement install. I selected my home as the place of repair per their app. I was prompted if I wanted to use insurance which I said yes to because of the cost of the windshield. Very easy. Got confirmation with the date of install which was placeD about 10 days out. ISSUE 1 - Couple days after confirmation, they texted and told me they had to move the appointment because they had to order and wait for glass. Installation moved out a week. I said okay. ISSUE 2 - They then called a few days later again, this time to tell me they could not install at my home due my car being a "luxury" car that required it be done at their office. And they could not do that on the second promise date, so again I had to reschedule and coordinate how to get to and from their office. I said okay. ISSUE 3 - After coordinating with my wife to get me to and from, I arrived early in the morning per safelites request (my appt was actually at 2:30pm). Because it was a new car, I asked if they could verify they had the correct glass (my windshield has some built-in tech). The answer I got was they were "pretty sure" but couldn't know 100% because the windshield was AFTERMARKET. ISSUE 4 - Now I discovered that they, without notice or asking or disclosing, made the decision to use aftermarket windshield on a new car with less than 2K miles. They tried to defer and blame on the insurance company/affiliate. And who was that...none other than Safelite Solutions...the company that manages auto-glass claims programs for many insurance carriers. SO the system here is charge for new glass and boost margins by using aftermarket parts. Coinidence I was never notified or given the choice? ISSUE 5 - The team at this location was completely unsympathetic and borderline callous toward my frustration with all the above issues. "I guess we can try to get OEM glass" ... "Sorry for your frustration" as she continues talking on her cell phone with zero eye-contact. When I said I was going to find another provider I got "okay - goodbye" as the response ...again with zero eye contact as the other service rep continued staring at his computer screen. Clearly the business model feeds enough business to these guys that service or lack there of does not impact their business. But this customer will never use Safelite for any of my families cars and I will discourage friends and family as well. The only positive - I had the right mind to cancel intallation before they ever touched the car.
