The check in was conducted efficiently and professionally.
There was a medical incident in back as I was being assisted, and petite Asian came in calmly and asked the African American woman assisting me at the desk if she was cpr certified.
She calmly stood up and walked back and the other women finished helping me without panic or hesitation.
Very professional of everyone, even as fire and medic arrived. the whole team on 28th st Grand rapids were rock stars.
Fortunately everything seemed to be okay without major incident. (If not the team made it seem cool collected seem less)
I was still taken care of very swiftly and kindly during the whole thing.
10/10 professional under pressure.

This is the first google rating I've ever left that hasn't been five stars, and boy, did they earn it.
Short version: I rented a car that smelled like smoke; Enterprise promised me a free upgrade on my next rental as compensation; When I arrived, the car I'd been promised was not available, and I was told the only option was a different "upgrade" that was listed for the exact same price as the base option.
Long version:
1) A few weeks ago, I had to drive a rental car that smelled so badly of smoke that I had to spend an hour washing my kid's carseat by hand after I turned the car in. An assistant manager offered to remedy the situation with a free upgrade on my next rental.
2) A few weeks later, I reached out to the assistant manager and asked if I could rent an Audi A6 or BMW 5 series, and what the cost would be. She told me that if I rented a full size sedan, the upgrade would cover a luxury sedan (BMW 226G, Audi A3, or similar). On Sunday, she confirmed the rate and told me to make the reservation for that Tuesday (email screenshot attached).
3) When I arrived--having taken time off work, lined up an appointment for my car at the body shop, and asked a family member to take time off work to drive me to Enterprise--the manager told me the car I was promised would not be available (even though the luxury sedan was absolutely available for booking online when I first emailed the assistant manager about this).
Instead, the manager told me my only option was a midsize SUV. I checked on the Enterprise website, and the full size sedan and midsize SUV are the exact same price (screenshot attached).
The manager didn't apologize or do anything to try and make it right, which honestly wouldn't have even bothered me that much if she hadn't tried to gaslight me into an "upgrade" that was the exact same price as the base option. I cancelled the reservation and went home, having resisted the strong urge to do my best Steve Martin in Planes Trains and Automobiles impression.
I tried very hard to be patient and understanding throughout the process, and I genuinely appreciated the assistant manager's offer to remedy the initial problem, but this entire process was incredibly insulting to me. Imagine if a restaurant gave you food poisoning, then offered to make it right by promising a steak dinner for the price of an Italian sausage, except when you showed up, they told you they didn't actually have any steak, and your only option was a hot dog, and then tried to convince you that the hot dog was equivalent to a steak. I doubt you'd go back to that restaurant, and you'd probably tell your family and friends not to go there either.

Alicia and Edith were so very helpful and accommodating. They truly made the rental experience a very easy process from beginning to end. Definitely appreciate all they did for me. They insisted they drive me across the street rather than have me walk across the street. Truly exceptional Care for customers. After dealing with a really unfortunate car accident, Kate got me set up with a rental quick and easy, made sure I felt comfortable, and encouraged me to look at a few different ones before getting me back in the road! She was so great, also really empathic to what a headache I’ve been going through, and surprised me with an upgrade. Honestly made my day, it was such a great experience!
