Extremely disappointing experience with Safe Harbor Grand Isle. We purchased a boat and trailer through Safe Harbor Grand Isle’s brokerage services, believing we were purchasing a complete boat-and-trailer package that was safe and appropriate. When we arrived home in Wisconsin, we were shocked to discover that both trailer axles were completely cracked—to the point that, honestly, we shouldn't have even attempted to move the boat. But what else were we supposed to do? We carefully rigged the trailer together with boards and zip ties just to get the boat safely to a reputable trailer repair shop. Once we got there, we learned that the trailer wasn't even rated to support the weight of the boat it was sold with. Had those axles failed while we were traveling from Michigan to Wisconsin, the boat could have ended up flat on the roadway and potentially caused a very serious accident. We have two small children, both under 3 years old, so thinking about what could have happened if this had failed on the highway is honestly terrifying. Thankfully, we discovered the problem before something much worse happened. Safe Harbor Grand Isle also knew we were traveling all the way from Wisconsin with the boat, which makes this even more concerning. We were also surprised to discover that the onboard toilet was a portable/self-contained marine toilet rather than the conventional plumbed marine head we understood the boat to have. One of the reasons we specifically upgraded to a boat with a toilet was because we have two young, potty-training children. Knowing the actual setup would have absolutely affected our decision. The frustrating part is that we now have to spend $5,000+ on a properly rated trailer—money we obviously weren't planning to spend. We aren't made of money by any means. Can we afford to fix it? Sure. Did we expect to have to replace a trailer and deal with completely cracked axles after purchasing a boat through a professional brokerage? Absolutely not. We tried to work this out with Safe Harbor Grand Isle and provided documentation regarding the trailer's condition and weight-rating concerns. Unfortunately, they have been completely unwilling to work with us toward a resolution, which has been extremely disappointing. We are not first-time boat owners, and we really felt like we knew what we were looking for when making this purchase. We learned a lesson the hard way. I feel it's important to share our experience so that anyone purchasing a boat through these brokerage services knows to really do your homework and know exactly what you're looking at, especially when it comes to the trailer and whether it is actually rated for the boat you're purchasing. All things aside, the safety factor is the worst part of this—not the money. We can deal with the unexpected expense, but knowing that we traveled all the way home on an underrated trailer and that somewhere along that drive both axles completely cracked is incredibly upsetting and scary. This could have ended so much worse, and thankfully it didn't. We just hope others can learn from our experience and make sure they ask the questions and do the inspections we wish we had done.

I've been around enough marinas to know the difference between one that's simply renting slips and one that's genuinely focused on the people who keep their boats there. This marina is firmly in the second category. From the moment you arrive, it's clear the property is well cared for. The grounds, docks, and facilities are clean, organized, and consistently maintained. You can tell management takes pride in the marina, and it shows in the overall experience. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They don't treat you like another source of revenue—they treat you like a valued customer. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly, professional, and willing to help. They work hard to create an environment where people feel welcome and appreciated, and that's something you don't find everywhere. The marina also offers plenty of amenities and does a great job of creating a place where you actually enjoy spending time, not just storing your boat between trips. No marina is perfect, but this one gets the important things right: well-maintained facilities, great customer service, and a team that genuinely seems to care about the boating community they've built. If you're looking for a marina where you're treated with respect and where management clearly invests in both the property and its customers, I would absolutely recommend giving this place a look

What a dump. So sad to see how far this once beautiful state-of-the-art Marina Has Fallen. Trash everywhere, as you walk around no one bothers to ask you if you need help. No need to go back here ever again.
