I had a very disappointing experience at Valvoline in Grand Blanc, MI.
I’ve been a loyal customer for many years, and my family has trusted this location with all four of our vehicles. During my oil change, they asked if I wanted the air filter replaced. I declined because I planned to replace it at my next oil change.
While the filter was off, I noticed a leaf stuck there and simply asked if they could remove it before putting the filter back on.Instead of removing the leaf, they were about to reinstall the filter with the leaf still there. I had to stop them and point it out again before they removed it. It would have taken only a few seconds to remove it, especially after I had specifically asked.
What disappointed me even more was the response. When I expressed my concern, one employee told me it wasn’t his fault because he wasn’t the one who was going to reinstall the filter. To me, that wasn’t the point. Two employees saw the issue, and neither one took the initiative to correct something so simple. That lack of attention to detail and accountability made me lose confidence in the service.
I told the employee that I didn’t appreciate what had happened, and he said he would bring it to the manager’s attention. I hope they do address it because customer trust is built on doing the little things right.
Was quoted $215 for an oil change on a 6.2 liter because it uses special 0w-40 oil. LOL thanks but no thanks...

I have never had a bad experience here. Bob, the manager, was great today. He showed me what was wrong with my headlight and temporarily fixed it for me. He explained everything in a way I could understand. All the techs have always been polite and friendly. Thank you!
Well, just wanted to share my experience last time I went there. I gave them a full five stars last time had a great technician Dave and he did it right by me, and gave great customer service. but this time was not the case went in for my routine oil change and after waiting about 30 minutes to get my oil changed, I don’t mind waiting whatsoever it’s the name of the game and plus I like going here. He shows me a price which I’m used to paying we agree go through all the light and tire pressures yada yada and then right before they get started all of a sudden they don’t have that oil in stock and they want to charge me extra for the next oil up. Now I woulda thought they would’ve just price matched it or whatever
But no they want to charge me an extra $40 for the Next level of oil and of course I was dealing with a couple of young lads And the guy that made the final decision on not price matching did not come and apologize for the inconvenience or offer a discount nothing, he just kind of gave me a dirty look because I wasn’t still wanting to get my oil changed unfortunately and these times Money is a little scarce so I did not have the extra $40, it’s not my fault your outta oil your. Your an oil changing place. at least match the price and keep your customers.

Been going to the Grand Blanc location for many. many years now and I have never had a bad experience. Every employee has been pleasant and knowledgeable to deal with. Hill Road Grand Blanc VIOC is the very best in customer service...THE BEST! You will get 5 star treatment with every visit!
