Easy to schedule, super friendly tech, got our window fixed while we went to the movies. Couldn’t have been easier and I highly recommend.

Would rate zero for service if I could. Here are the results of the alleged repair. Repair last less than 48 hours before spreading across the entire windshield. I have had many repairs with Safelite as a Jeep owner. This is the first time the damage appearance was the same as before the repair. Usually the tech will ask if you are satisfied and ask if you would like wipers replaced. This tech did not. I completely understand repairs are not conducted for appearance but rather integrity and strength of the glass, but the appearance after the completion as well as the repair failing within less than 48 hours makes one question the repair process/success. Contacted customer care. They allegedly escalated but we have had no response.

I’m not the kind of person to leave a negative review about a company, but the absolute foolishness exhibited by Safelite Gaylord, in MI. I contacted my insurance agent because a truck kicked up a stone and put a good ding in my windshield. Prior to the actual Safelite repair they emailed me a “what to expect” video (which was great) and the video detailed that the chip/crack wouldn’t be gone after the repair, rather it would look like a milky spot, or as I thought like hot glue dabbed on my windshield. Since the area was the size of a quarter, they said this shouldn’t be a problem, and I was fine with that. After the first repair technician left, I looked at the repair and it didn’t look any different, but the sharp edge was smoothed over, but nowhere near what the video portrayed. When I showed it to my agent, he agreed that it was unacceptable, and called them to reschedule another appointment, this time for a full replacement, and not a spot repair. On the morning of the replacement, I received a call that the windshield that was shipped to them was damaged, so they had to order another one, and asked once again to reschedule, which I was happy to do, because things happen. The replacement day was set for a Saturday, at noon. So, the technician showed up on time, we had a quick chat, and he started working, and was done in about an hour. Just after he left, I went back out to look at what he did one last time and noticed that the little covers that go over the mounting hex nut were missing. These cover the anchor point (nut and bolt) where the wiper arm meets the motor that moves the wipers when activated. My truck is eight years old, and I would have noticed these silver hex nuts when I was cleaning and polishing my vehicle. I know they were there because they were perfectly clean, and not rusty or corroded in any way, so that told me that they were indeed installed prior to the technician arriving. Again, no biggie, so I sent them an email (with a photograph) and asked them to have the technician return them asap, because I don’t want those bolts/nuts exposed to the elements, which could cause them to rust and seize. I didn’t receive a call, after waiting one business day, so I called on Tuesday morning and spoke to customer service and was told that they couldn’t help me until the following Saturday. I explained my concern for the bolts rusting, and said that timeframe wasn’t acceptable, and that all they have to do is drive 25 minutes from their location and drop them off, that’s all I wanted them to do. She said she would have to contact the local manager, and that the Gaylord office would call me. After an hour he (manager) did call and after I explained what happened, he said that he looked at the photos made by the service technician and that both covers weren’t there when he came. I reiterated that they (nuts/bolts) were in pristine condition, and there is no way they wouldn’t show some sort of rust if they had been exposed, but he refused to replace them. I then asked him to email me the photos, which he said would be time stamped (as proof), and I agreed to look at them. To his credit, he called me after they arrived, and explained that the images weren’t time stamped, but he said they (covers) weren’t there, and that I should trust him because these parts are notoriously bad and fall off all the time. He even suggested that I look at other trucks in large parking lots, and I’ll see what he’s saying. I told him that the images looked like “after” shots to me, made by the technician showing the completed work. I really didn’t accept that excuse and asked him to send someone out to replace them, and that I’m sure the technician just left them in his pocket, or rolling cart, but he refused. I just ordered replacement parts, that cost me $30, all because Safelite Gaylord doesn’t stand by their work, and worse yet makes excuses for their simple mistakes, instead of making things right for their customers. Please reconsider using this company.
