  I shop at AutoZone pretty often (not just this store) and the store is fine. This review is specifically for Dakota at the Gaylord store. Absolutely worst person I have ever dealt with. Provided my wife and I information that wasn't even close to accurate. For example we ask about a sale in the store and he comes over and says "I have no clue, looks like you buy this and get wipers for 2 for $12 deal." We buy those and it doesn't discount in the ticket and he tells me "yes it did, just comes off the receipt little at a time.." like there is some magic on the receipt I'm supposed to believe. I went outside to look at the receipt, definitely didn't come off like he made up. Ask about an oil filter and I am buying 2 5quart jugs of $45 oil. Got an oil filter and he just grabs the cheapest one after I asked if I got a free filter after buying 2 5 quart jugs of oil which he said no....again clueless or just had zero regard to offer us. Definitely get a free filter with purchase of the oil. Just the worst and most clueless person I have ever dealt with. Literally had no desire to help us at all and when asked just made stuff up... Congratulations buddy, you are on my top 10 worst people, who hate their jobs, and just don't care.

  A buddy and I were stuck 350 miles from home in Gaylord with a blown out wheel bearing and were calling around town looking for the replacement hub assembly. Autozone in Gaylord had it next day by 730AM, loaned us some tools and knowledge and let us replace the thing in the parking lot. We got the van rolling again by noon thanks to the help of the team and specifically John M. who had mentioned to us that he had a couple dozen years of experience as a mechanic under his belt. It showed when he pointed us towards the right tools and methods for breaking the rust weld on the old hub assembly! 5/5 would definitely recommend this shop. Stocking the items on the shelf is one thing... but having people who know their stuff is another. Thanks John and the autozone team!

  A huge shoutout and thank-you for John W. at the Gaylord, MI store. I was working on a chain gearbox for my snow thrower attachment—which isn't exactly an everyday project—and he went above and beyond to advise me on my rebuild to ensure I source the right parts and grease, and avoid reassembly mistakes. As an experienced small engine mechanic, his advice was spot-on, and he took the time to make sure I was set up for success. It’s rare to find that level of genuine help and technical know-how these days. If management is reading this, John W. deserves some serious recognition! Highly recommend this location.
