Had a relay switch that i purchased the previous day from a different auto zone that saw to be faulty. I didnt have the lil bag that it came in so the employee/manager wouldn't switch it for another relay of the same kind . He also proceeded to show me a relay that was clearly not the one i needed it was too big. He told me i must have taken the wrong one out cause his computer was show that to be the one i needed(again wrong). His attitude towards the whole interaction i had with him clearly showed laziness not knowledgeable about auto zones parts and just seemed as if he just didn't care. I would not recommend to shop at this auto zone on 8 mile and mound. I went to the one on 10 mile and van dyke and the manager there was very helpful and he called another store to check if they had the part which they did and they held it for me til i got there. Which was the one on 9 mile and Dequindre .

Had an online purchase, misplaced the card it was purchased with came back a month later for a cash refund. I researched the return policy online. Called a store nearer #6764 to my home hoping to be able to stop in for the refund on my way to work. The District Manager I spoke to at the Royal Oak store on Woodward ultimately could not help due to his store being a low cash store. My purchase was $382.61. The District Manager redirected me to the 2128 store in Detroit on Mound where my original purchase was picked up. He explained that they were a high cash store and would have the available cash. The DM for store 6764 reassured me that he had spoken with the manager at store 2128 and that they were expecting me. I took a Lyft to the Detroit store. The manager was unable to process the transaction. Apparently his credentials did not allow an override of the system. I asked if there was someone else I could speak to. The manager stated that he had just talked to him and that I could call but wouldn’t get an answer. It was frustrating to say the least. Feeling helpless I placed another call to the Royal Oak store hoping the District Manager could intervene on my behalf. The DM had left the store for a meeting per the store manager but did advise that I call store 2128 District Manager. I used the number on the front door. It was not the right number. I received a text back from the number that explained I had the wrong number. I gave up and left. My issue with this is 2 District Managers and a store manager couldn’t process a cash refund. The Detroit store clearly wasn’t interested in resolving my issue. What manager tells you you can’t get help from the person he’s talking to on the phone. Why wasn’t I told that I would need this transaction processed by a person with the credentials to override the system? No one knew this before sending me across town? The Detroit store should educate employees on policies and procedures- there is no way this many people in management should have got this wrong. My letter to corporate will be more detailed. AutoZone is too big to be haggling with customers over less than 400 bucks. I started my attempt to refund these items before 9 am it 5 pm by the time it was over. Resources and time wasted. Numerous phone calls to gain clarity BEFORE going. Got the aid of a District Managers. This was terrible.
