    ****RENTERS BEWARE!! EMPLOYEE THIEVES**** Accidentally left an expensive piece of equipment in the rental upon returning it and an employee stole it. Was able to track it each night from the rental, to a residential area, and back. I could even prove that they were using it. I filed a claim and provided proof of tracking. They told me it wasn't enough and to file a police report. Case closed. No comps, no offers, just a stone wall of a no and that's it. I'm in financial fraud investigations. I do this for a living. I know what I saw and the proof I provided. I will never rent from this company again.

    The shuttle service driver and bus from the terminal to the rental office were very efficient and nice. The small Mitsubishi SUV I picked out on the lot was nearly brand new and worked beautifully (I do wish they had a person to walk you through how the car works, such as how to turn on the digital radio and where the various seat and gas tank levers were). All the Alamo folks at the service desk and guiding us out of and into the lot were friendly and smiling. I will use Alamo rental the next time I'm in in Detroit (where my family lives).

    On the date 04/30/26 arrival from NJ to Detroit, MI. between 8-8:20 am, my son and I presented ourselves to pick up our confirmed prepaid reservation. Despite having a valid prepaid reservation for one vehicle and the other vehicle was to be paid at the counter (Audi 4 or BMW 3 Series or equivalent as they say but in their lot there was no cars even seen. Unfortunately, we were wrongfully denied our vehicle due to confusion created by your internal reservation system. My son, a 22-year-old licensed driver in the State of New Jersey since 2018, was also subjected to treatment that appeared discriminatory based solely on his age. When I told them what was posted on their site in clear English, rep was confused on the comprehension of written language. Clearly she told her manager, I called her illiterate, (not true at all). I requested to shown them from their website on the rules for 18-24. Stiil refusal, so I opt out of that reservation of the luxury car and asked to just get my prepaid rental. Rather than resolving the issue professionally, your staff repeatedly dismissed my debit card with a shown flight itinerary. He still requested to me to use a credit card. I told him no that is for emergencies. Clearly this manager wanted to disrupt my trip. The signage on the wall is written on a large canvas posted on the wall. We were ultimately denied service and ordered to leave the premises in This situation became even more distressing when my son and I were told to leave the premises to be left outside in freezing cold Michigan weather of 30 something degrees. We were forced to travel between airport terminals and shuttle stations. After another attempt to reserve under Priceline. We came back not knowing that Alamo and National are the same people with another manager by the name of David Chavez heard our complaint and ultimately sided with his manager as he said: He is over him. The other manager from earlier falsely accused me of using inappropriate language to him, an allegation unsupported by any evidence or recordings. Despite spending more than seven hours attempting to resolve the matter at the DTW Airport of Alamo and National, I was finally able to secured an Uber to our hotel of miles away. Flights of other members was between that night and Friday Night, so it was one exhausted weekend for me as I had a medical condition, I was under no way of driving on multiple occasions to pick up family between our hotel and the airport. Because of your company's (Alamo and National same people) failure to fulfill its contractual obligations, I incurred substantial unexpected expenses, including: Uber transportation back to our hotel A replacement rental vehicle which costed more and located more than 25 miles from the airport Rental charges significantly higher than my original reservation Additional non refundable hotel and transportation expenses for family members ( 4 additional adults including a senior citizen) Use of my emergency credit card to secure alternate transportation and gas. This ordeal was particularly difficult because I was managing a serious documented medical condition at the time, which made the lengthy delay and lack of accommodations even more physically taxing. Corporate was notified and still no resolution. DO NOT RENT HERE. I will post on all social media platforms and review sites until I get a resolution.

    Overall the staff was friendly nice and helpful. Only issue was getting the car. There seemed to be no order to it. People were just standing around and not knowing who came first etc.. they would just pull up a car and say who rented a mid size , we'll there were 4 different families and all looking at each other to see who would say me first making for a odd and uncomfortable situation. They needed to either call out a name of the person or have a clearly marked area to stand and wait in line

    my alamo rental from Detroit airport was as expected, very good. The vehicle was in good condition operated well the facility close to the airport about a 5 min ride on the shuttle. honestly the only thing I was disappointed with was when picking up my rental after the paper work was completed they asked me to walk outside and give the paper work to the attendant to get my vehicle. when I went to do that their was a large crowd of customers , no visible line and complete chaos. the attendant was walking around grabbing paper work and vehicles like a lottery system. no rhyme, or reason , completely disorganized. this lead to extended time standing in the cold waiting for the attendants to figure out what was next. I think their should be a line, it should be first come first serve. would most likely make things easier for the attendants as well.
