Got into an accident and needed my car towed to a collision shop. My insurance offered me the choice of any shop, and based on a quick Google review search, I chose Cox Collision. Communication was great all the way up until the estimate was approved.
After about a week, I called to ask how progress was going and if there was an estimated completion date. I was told they’d have it done by the 13th or 14th. Then I received an update through State Farm saying it would be pushed to the following Monday due to a backordered part they were waiting on.
On Monday, I got the call that the car was complete. I took off work early and headed there to pick it up. While checking the vehicle over, I noticed the boot for my adaptive cruise control sensor was missing. The shop manager, or whoever handles the front office, tried telling me he didn’t think a part even went there. After asking two more employees about the missing boot, he called the dealership, who confirmed that a boot was in fact missing.
I left the car there so they could install the part. Two days later, I got another call to pick it up. This time, the adaptive cruise sensor was not centered properly in the bumper. The manager then stated that they didn’t install the sensor themselves because another shop had to do it since Cox couldn’t program the sensor.
I also noticed the car had about 60 additional miles on it since I dropped it off from the tow truck, and then I was told I needed to pay $22 for gas.
I’ve since contacted my insurance company to file a complaint in hopes of getting the sensor centered properly, since when I brought it up to the shop, they just passed the blame.
Also have noticed that windshield reservoir and coolant are missing bolts… fins on lower part of bumper are still broken… and hood is bent down in the corner of the impact.
Responding the the coxs response.
I admit I did say the paint looks good. But being notified about the complaints and you disregarding them and catching attitude with the customer isn’t very professional. Also you stated the front end was missing… I’ve added photos of all the broken and missing pieces and a photo of the actual damage prior to you receiving it…
Alignment on sensor is off over an inch to the passenger side… should be centered to the hole in the bumper. The missing bolts on the reservoirs is unacceptable. The fins under the bumper on the side of impact being reinstalled on a new bumper being broken is unacceptable. The hood alignment being off is unacceptable. You also forgot to add washer fluid to the reservoir but that’s an easy and cheap fix even though should’ve been done prior to pick up.
