  My wife and we're thinking of upgrading our current RV and stopped in on a whim. Dave took great care of us and asked the proper questions. He narrowed our search didn't waist our time trying to up sell. Tim was great on the financial side and worked with us to get the best value for our trade in.

  We were very excited to look at a aliner that we saw but low expectations on it. After we saw it we really loved it. But it was a huge downgrade in size in what we have now. After walking the lot we came in and the typical general rv thing happen for years. The sales people spent almost a hour just begging us for a deposit down and why we couldn't pull the trigger at that moment. My wife and I really wanted to go home and think if we wanted to drop from a 28ft camper to a 16ish foot camper and the sales and sales manager was not having it. Untimely we were free to leave and was just insanely un happy with how that came about. This place really needs to learn people's vibe. If they want to go home and think about it let them. Dont keep pushing for your stupid deposit. We are a huge buyer from general rv and quit going to general rv because of this but looks like over the last year they just got worse at it. It is what it is. I would still recommend not going to general rv. We literally went in there for a part and we happen to see this aliner over the fence and wanted to see it turned into a harassing dibocal for an hour. Maybe they are just used to people going in there and just dropping money instantly. Plus I asked for out the door rough financial numbers and it took 3 asks to finally get that number at the end of the "session" We also asked to look at maybe some class B and C and the sales guy showed us some random travel trailer that was nothing we asked about.

  Do not do business at this location! The assistant sales manger Tim Johnson at the clarkston branch is very unprofessional. Was swearing in front of my 12 year old son and 80 year old grandmother. Cut my trade in value in half form $8000 to $4000 and was extremely unprofessional. I should also mention this was for a 80 year old woman wi is the widow of a US navy veteran Do not buy a propane tank here because according to Tim it’s $100 for the tank and a hour in labor to change it. Come on man I can go buy a tank for $63 and have my 12 year old change in in a few minutes. On the other hand a manager from a different manager from the birchrun store called and apologized and we were able to work out a deal.

  My 80 year old mother went to buy a camper from their Clarkston store, check your paperwork people not only did they not give her the advertised price when she went to sign her paperwork they added $4,800 to it and then only gave her half of what they said they were going to give her for the trade-in when she told them no that she wanted the original price and called them liars the assistant sales manager Tim Johnson, said I'm escorting you out, cursed at her my son and my 12 year old grandson and would not give her her $530 deposit back. What kind of business are these people running. My whole family camps I guarantee you they will never buy from general RV again. She's an 80 year old widow of a US Navy veteran and they took advantage of her.

  We got to work with Kip from Clarkston at the RV show in Kalamazoo (and picked up our new trailer from Wayland). Kip is, hands down, one of the best sales people we’ve ever worked with. Knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and no high pressure sales tactics. Honestly, I’d drive out to the east side of the state to work with Kip again. Great ambassador for the General RV brand as a whole. Thanks, Kip! 😅
