Matt and the team at Clarkston General RV have been amazing. We scheduled service for several things we discovered over the first year of ownership and Matt got us in before the warranty ran out. Matt kept us informed and the technicians even discovered additional items that needed attention and were covered by warranty. They advocated for us at the manufacturer to make necessary repairs in a timely manner. Highly recommend this location.

Outstanding overall experience. I bought my first camper from a Mom and Pop outfit and will never make that mistake again. General RV has made the buying an RV experience a science. From the moment you get there they treat you like royalty. A true red carpet experience. Exceptional experience across the board, from their financing department, parts and accessories, having your RV’s capabilities demonstrated for you, to being shown how to properly hook up your hitch. The whole experience was outstanding. Why anybody would buy an RV from someone other than general RV is beyond me. Thank you General RV for being so good at what you do.

My husband and I were on our way up north with our pop up when both tires popped into smithereens on the highway. Absolutely shredded. Thank god we were able to pull off at the Davisburg exit. We called General RV to see if they had any tires in stock, and they had one! We were stranded unable to take the wheel off, and Dan in their service department was an absolute angel and met us at our camper to help take the old wheels off. We were able to drive it to their service department where they fit us in immediately. They ended up having another tire for us to use, and did not charge us for it. They had hot dogs, water, pop, chips, and welcomed our dog inside with her own water, treats, and pets. A horrible event was made right by the nicest, most thoughtful people. Thank you, Dan, and thank you everyone else!

I have used General RV for service many times before and had good experiences in the past.. This time I took it in twice in the last few months in the Spring, 2026 and in the summer 2 weeks ago. First of all, $225 an hour now is ridiculous to fix anything on a trailer especially when they don't fix it properly. The customer service this time was terrible. I took my trailer in for in to have them look at my black tank, fix my awning arm that had somehow come detached from my trailer, new tires, etc. They talked me into getting my roof waterproofed. I agreed. When I went to pick up my camper, the awning job was done so sloppy with black glue just oozing out onto the camper. The service tech Matthew had the nerve to tell me to just take a razor blade and some alcohol and clean up myself when I got home. I was like no way. I just paid you $225 an hour to fix it. They still did a very poor job and the picture is attached of the fixed version after they cleaned off the black glue. It still looks terrible and they did a sloppy job covering the screws and didn't care. Then my gutter strip was all coming off when we did the after the repair walk through. Matthew was trying to tell me that that was normal for the gutter to bend like like that. However it was not bent like that when I brought it in. General RV then charged me to put on a new rubber strip while I waited. I should never have been charged for that. I got my camper home and my awning lights now we're not working. I swear when they reattached the awning arm they sliced the wires to my lights. They said that was not it. The switch was bad. They put a new switch and my lights still were not working. I sat in the lounge for over 3 hours while they tried to fix my awning lights. I get it home, now, my awning lights won't dim anymore, the new switch does not work or even shut off the lights. They are on 24/7 and draining my battery constantly. I reached out to Olivia and have not heard back as of July 30, 2026. I want my switch and awning lights working properly or a full refund. That is not too much to ask for. They were working great before I brought it to General RV. I spent thousands of dollars getting repairs done through your company. Most of the repairs done great. Olivia did offer to fill my propane tanks for waiting so long, but my tanks were already full. Please fix my awning lights properly or refund me. Also, it would be nice to have someone clean up the shitty glue job on my awning arm too and refund the cost to repair the rubber gutter too that you ruined cleaning my roof. At least, please contact me to fix my awning lights properly. I am going to contact the better business bureau too.

Three and a Half Years of Ownership: Beware My Experience with Jayco and General RV I purchased a brand-new 2022 Jayco Jay Feather 24RL from General RV in October 2022. Unfortunately, before I even took my first camping trip, it had already been back to the dealership for warranty repairs, including an improperly adjusted entry door, a bathroom pocket door, a defective kitchen outlet, a battery disconnect wired incorrectly, and an improperly applied ceramic coating. After only a few camping trips, the list continued to grow. The A/C ducts had never been properly opened from the factory, the black tank sensors failed, the refrigerator latch wouldn't stay closed, and the battery had to be replaced because of the earlier wiring issue. The more significant issues came next. After driving through rain, the camper leaked, leaving water on the floor. The first time I assumed it was my mistake. When it happened again, a technician immediately found the cause—a missing factory foam seal in the slide-out. The repair took only a few minutes, yet I had previously been warned I might have to pay for water testing on a camper that was only about 18 months old. The thermostat also malfunctioned from nearly day one. General RV inspected it multiple times and told me nothing was wrong, even charging me for inspections. After researching online, I found the actual problem myself: the thermostat sensor had been pushed back inside the return-air cavity during assembly. Pulling the sensor into the living area solved the problem immediately. Within the first year, the slide-out also became extremely noisy. The solution was simply lubrication, but I was still asked to pay because it was considered routine maintenance. Now, after only 3½ years, the gel coat on the front cap is peeling badly. Both Jayco and General RV have declined assistance because the camper is out of warranty, leaving me with a $3,681 repair estimate. Ownership Summary Purchased: October 2022 Major camping trips before recurring issues became apparent: 5 Dealer service visits: 8+ Multiple recurring warranty-related issues Two significant problems ultimately diagnosed and corrected by me Current repair estimate for peeling front cap: $3,681 This is not my first travel trailer. Over the past 20 years I've owned multiple RVs, including another Jayco and a Keystone, and none have required anywhere near this level of service. I maintain my campers carefully, winterize them properly, and take pride in keeping them in excellent condition. These issues were not the result of neglect. I understand that every manufacturer can produce an occasional defective unit. What defines a company is how it stands behind its product. Unfortunately, my experience with both Jayco and General RV has been repeated warranty issues, recurring repairs, multiple trips back to the dealership, charges for issues I believe should have been covered, and having to diagnose some of the problems myself. If this camper had experienced one or two isolated issues, I wouldn't be writing this review. It was the continual pattern of defects, recurring repairs, poor communication, and the lack of accountability that led me to share my experience. Before posting this review, I notified both Jayco and General RV that, if we were unable to reach a satisfactory resolution, I intended to publicly share my ownership experience. Unfortunately, despite giving both companies that opportunity, we were unable to resolve these concerns. I have retained service records, repair invoices, photographs, and repair estimates documenting the issues described above should either company wish to review them. My goal is not simply to criticize, but to provide other prospective buyers with a factual account of my ownership experience so they can make an informed purchasing decision. After more than 20 years of RV ownership, this has been the most disappointing RV ownership experience I have had. I can no longer recommend either Jayco or General RV, and I hope this review helps other buyers make an informed purchasing decision.
