  Well first off I made a mistake when reserving the vehicle, put in Portland Oregon instead of Maine on October 4,2026 at the Portland Jetport branch. The CSR named Mesha,( hoping that’s the correct spelling) did a great job in correcting our error. He was able to still get us a vehicle for the same time frame and made what could have been major pain a seamless transaction and did it with professionalism! In this day and age of sometimes horrible customer service, Mesha was a breath of fresh air! Love writing reviews about excellent service. Thank You, Tony

  Bypass the counter and pick your car. National has great people, excellent vehicle choices and many locations. We have a corporate agreement which makes renting even easier. I always choice National.

  The Portland, ME, airport has not caught up with the times. As an Emerald member, I haven't had to go to the counter at an airport for 15+ years. Additionally, returning usually takes just a few minutes. I understand that this is small airport but I've been to smaller airports and it's not been this slow. My experience with National throughout the years has been great so I will definitely continue to be a National customer, but I may not use them to rent a car in Maine.

  Fantastic experience, super friendly folks & great customer service. John provided me a wonderful car to drive, made my day trip in Maine exceptional. The experience made me consider using National for my car rentals where available.
