- LLLivvyAug 11, 20265.0We always have a great experience at the Bucksport Advance Auto Parts. Travis, who my husband and I jokingly call “The Punisher” because we think he looks like him (and we absolutely mean that as a compliment! 😂) is awesome. Every time we come in, he’s there to help us figure out exactly what we need. There’s also another gentleman whose name we unfortunately don’t know who has helped us several times and is just as knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. There are a couple of other guys working there as well who always seem to be busy getting things done, so we just haven’t had as much interaction with them personally. Everyone is polite, extremely knowledgeable, and always willing to help. It’s really nice having a local auto parts store with employees we know we can count on. Highly recommend the Bucksport location to anyone in the area needing parts, advice, or pretty much anything vehicle-related. Great crew and great customer service every time! ❤️
- MMmike malenfantJul 16, 20265.0I was at the Bucksport store and Jim helped me with trying to identify some wheel bearings, seals etc. that didn’t have clear markings and numbers that were hard to cross reference. He spent a considerable amount of time making sure I had what I needed and took the time to actually measure the bearings the seals by hand and took several off the shelf to make sure I had a perfect match! He went way out of his way and certainly had a goal to make sure I had everything I needed so I didn’t have to make several trips back and forth. I appreciated his efforts greatly and even shook his hand to show I appreciated his customer service and his patience! Thank you Jim

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
