The project has been terrible, but I can’t find a garage who wouldn’t charge me 1200+ to do it, and then source the most expensive parts on top of that. Larry knew precisely what I needed, where in the store to find it, and how to install it. He’s not just a guy working the register, he knows automotive repair and is a good guy. Hard not feeling like you get taken advantage of in nearly every business transaction in today’s economy, but my business at this store was a breath of fresh air. This place is my go to for automotive supply from this point forward.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
