Do not waste your time or money on this company. Since ownership changed, they are not providing good product or service. The mobile service came to replace my Sprinter front windshield. They removed my damaged windshield. As they were placing the molding on my replacement, I inspected it. I found significant damage on the bottom edge of the windshield. They call them "clamshells". There were two of these over 1.5" and protruded beyond the molding, primed to accept water during rain, freezing during the winter and cracking and premature fail. Safelite knowingly sent this damaged windshield to my home and the technician was told to put it in with the significant damage. The supervisor who showed up tried to say it was not structural damage. That's just not true. I guess this is how you guarantee premature failure and more business at the expense of your customer. Be smart, find another company so you won't get stuck in a replacement loop or paying for installation of damaged product.

Called to get a time frame of how long it’ll be and i was unable to talk to a person, instead i talked to an AI phone assistant, but the information given told me 2 hours max for my windshield to get fixed. At drop off i was told 3 hours which was not the same as the information i got before but i didn’t stress it until I called around 2 1/2 hours later to see if my car would be ready at the 3 hour mark just to be told it would be at least another hour and a half… went from 2 hour to double that. on top of that there was a different women at the desk when i picked up and she did not ask any information and passed the keys over which is concerning because at that rate anyone could have just went and taken my car.. didn’t even ask my name ..lastly when i got in my car stuff was moved around as expected but just tossed including a card displaying “in memory of” just on the ground (that i viewed as very disrespectful) and my dash cam unplugged, it did not need to be unplugged to move… this is so disappointing . hopefully i don’t need my windshield replaced by them ever again.

I put off getting a new windshield for about 5 months until the crack ran all the way across my windshield. Safelite made the whole process very simple from appointment scheduling to the installation and I received updates throughout the install. Very happy with my choice.

UPDATE: Had the windshield replaced by Auto Glass One (read their outstanding google reviews!), which did an excellent job. Cost: $693. Safelite's estimate: $1,322. Yeah, pretty crazy difference in price AND service. Took our car in for a very minor nick in the windshield, literally the size of a dime. The "repair" created another crack and now we need a new windshield. (The service rep also claimed there were two cracks to begin with. There wasn't! This blatant lie is what's most upsetting.) This seems like total incompentence--or a scam--to me. Not sure how this could happen with what appeared to be a very easy fix. These guys do this for a living, right? We won't be having the windshield replaced here for sure. Very disappointing.
