80 y.o. woman went in to get estimate for a wiper issue. They said there was a mice issue and charge $90 for that diagnostics and told her that it would cost $800 to replace the wiper motor and linkage. We took it home and opened it up. Didn't look like they even opened it up as it was full of debris. Don't mind I understand it was an estimate, but to charge someone $90 and not even opening up the compartment to see what needed to be done? That's just blatant neglect!! Unfortunate to see this happen in Olney, MD. 2nd Reply: Well kinda a too late to say you will look at it now? I opened it up and cleaned out the inside and had use a plier to gently SNAP back the link that came off. We paid you $90. You should have done that then.

I rarely write reviews but I was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful and speedy expertise service. Scott and Ryan were extremely through in explaining everything to me and giving me very reasonable pricing. The first time I took my car I needed new tires and they were able to get me in the same day and gave an honest and reasonable estimate. The second time I took my car in for multiple issues with brakes, rotors and muffler. As a woman I felt very respected and was given very thorough sincere service. I will definitely bring my car here for any other needs.

Insanely expensive. I just called for a price quote and they quoted me almost a $1000 to change a starter. I politely ask him to make sense of the pricing matrix. Oh and just to put it out there, i own a small dealership in Rockville and i use the same (parts authority) as the repair shop. The cost of the starter was $118 dollors and $175 without a account but some how these people found it fair to charge $500 for a $120 starter plus $385 for the labor. Really bad business. I couldnt sleep at night if i treated people this way. But i get it

THIS WILSON TIRE IN OLNEY IS THE BEST PLACE FOR ALL YOUR AUTO NEEDS. I MYSELF WAS AN AUTO MECHANIC FOR 40 YEARS,HAD ABOUT 16 OF MY OWN CARS, DID ALL THE REPAIRS MYSELF ALWAYS. NOW THAT IM TOO OLD AND TIRED, I HAVE BEEN GOING TO MECHANICS FOR THE LAST 13 YEARS. BEEN TO MANY, IN NEW YORK, DC AND MARYLAND. I HAVE BEEN TO ALL THE BIG GUYS AND SMALL GUYS IN MY SILVER SPRING AREA, AND I FOUND THIS WILSON TIRE IN OLNEY THE VERY BEST. CANT COMPARE! THEY ARE SO NICE AND INFORMATIVE, PRICES ARE REALISTIC, AND MOST OF ALL HONEST... I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THEM HOW GREAT THEY MAKE ME FEEL. I RECOMMEND THEN TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND WILL STICK WITH THEM FOR THE REST OF MY DAYS. CANT REMEMBER ALL THE NAMES,BUT FOR SURE, RYAN, MIKE, DAVE, SO MANY OTHERS. THEY ARE SO POLITE. IT IS A PLEASURE TO USE THEM FOR ALL MY AUTO NEEDS.

Very friendly, both on the phone and in person. Unfortunately, not a good experience in the end. I took my truck in for a simple tire balance and rotate, picked it up and went on my way. I immediately noticed that it was riding like a brick on my short ride home. I suspected that they had overfilled the tires with air so checked them. Sure enough, they had put 35 psi in each tire (the specification right in the door jamb is 30 psi). Okay, don't know why they did that but I let them all back down to 30 psi and that was fine. No big deal. As a matter of practice, I have learned over the years to double check the wheel lug nut torque on my wheels after I have them worked on by any shop. I have found that they usually way over tighten them and/or tighten them unevenly, so I always get a floor jack out and loosen them all up and then re-tighten them evenly to spec with a torque wrench. Upon doing this, I was very surprised (and actually shocked) to find that almost all of the lug nuts were barely more than hand tight. I mean I could easily loosen most of them with a small ratchet with one hand. The lug nut torque specification for this truck is 98 ft-lbs; I would estimate that most of them were no more than 10-15 ft-lbs. Had I not checked them there is no way they would not have loosened up completely while driving which could have potentially been quite dangerous. I called the store the next day and spoke to the manager who listened to my concerns, and was very pleasant and offered me a full refund. I was very happy that he did so, but not so happy that he did not seem too concerned about what had happened. Later that day, I went back to the shop and again spoke with the manager, who gave me a refund. He was again very pleasant and polite. But it was clear he did not want to engage me in a conversation about what happened when I tried, and seemed more concerned with getting me out of the store as soon as possible. I understand people make mistakes and stuff happens. But the scary part is about what might have (and probably would have) happened had I not checked my lug nuts. And what about the other 99% of the customers who do not check these things because they should not have to? I understand they were just taking me at my word about what happened, as I had no proof at that point. But I was very constructive and specific about my experience, and gave them a chance to react appropriately. This was a very dangerous condition that my vehicle was left in, and I feel that a sense of concern rather than ambivalence would have been the appropriate response. Had I gotten a different response, I would have given them another chance with my other vehicle. I really try to support local businesses, but I cannot afford to go here again or recommend them based upon my experience.
