  The cashier who assisted me was clearly in a bad mood from the moment I entered the store, and unfortunately, every question I asked seemed to be treated like an inconvenience. I completely understand that people have bad days, especially when working in retail, but I was dealing with my car breaking down and a dead battery for the first time. I came into the store polite, asked for help, and was simply trying to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle. Given the situation, I would have appreciated some basic courtesy and patience. I initially asked if my battery and alternator could be tested. He was very rude and dismissive about the fact that my car was not parked directly on the curb for him to test. We immediately apologized and explained that we didn’t know where we were supposed to park because the car dies every time it is parked, and we didn’t want to risk blocking the curb. We told him we would go outside, jump the car, and pull it out front. Instead of looking at the vehicle or testing the battery first, he insisted that I purchase a new battery without actually confirming that the battery was the problem. When he installed the new battery, his attitude continued. Rather than politely asking my boyfriend to hold his tools, he was very dismissive and simply insisted that he hold them. There was no “please” or “thank you,” just a general attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing or annoying him. When we thanked him after he finished installing the battery, he didn’t acknowledge us and simply walked away. I work in retail myself, and I would never treat a customer this way when they had done nothing but be polite and ask for assistance. I understand having a bad day, but that does not justify making customers feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. I was already having a horrible day because my car had broken down, and I came into the store genuinely needing help. Unfortunately, the way we were treated was so uncomfortable and unnecessary that it has honestly made me reconsider ever coming back for services. I don’t know his name, but he was a larger man with curly hair and a beard. I hope he has a better day, but I sincerely hope management addresses the way customers are being treated because basic courtesy should not be too much to ask. We were nothing but polite and were simply looking for assistance during an already stressful situation.

  I have always gotten good service with knowledgeable staff at this location. Today an employee named Jay helped me with a battery for my elderly mother's car. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and kind with his help. They have my business going forward without a doubt!

  Thomas provided excellent customer service . I stopped in panicking because my dash lights went out in my car while driving .one evening. He came out to the car, checked it out, fixed the settings and didn’t make fun of my silly mistake. I turned them by accident. He was polite, courteous and very professional. I highly recommend him and the Odenton Advance Auto Parts store. This was not my first time in the store and each time they have gone above and beyond my expectations.
