- AIAmber IrishMar 24, 20262.0Went to get a battery for our car yesterday, while the service was fast the customer service was non existent. Even though my husband is a happy go lucky friendly guy, the 2 boys working barely said a word. It was very mechanical, no conversation other than what car we had. No greetings, literally just “pointed” to where to put the battery. Don’t know if maybe they were having an off day but it was almost painful to be there, like we weren’t welcome at all. We won’t be going back until the battery dies and we return it. (4 year warranty).

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
