  Terrible experience with this service department. They mislead you from the start. When I booked the VW mandatory recall appointment, they said it would take about an hour. Upon arrival, they changed it to 1 to 2 hours. While 2 hours is inconvenient, a full 4 hours is completely disruptive to an entire day's schedule. I sat in the waiting room for a full 4 hours with zero updates.Their courtesy rides only cover a 9-mile radius, which isn't fair either. I live further away and could not benefit from that. A pickup ride back when you are going to take longer would be great. Even just being straightforward about the true wait time would have been very helpful, as I could have brought a book or a computer to work.Because of this massive delay, my daughter missed her work appointment since we share the vehicle. When I complained, the manager was completely impolite and kept insisting that the recall takes "up to two hours." Too bad that I waited four! In the future, try to be more objective with your timeframe and don’t promise what you can’t achieve. One star because I can’t give zero and because in the past they were okay.

  Hani Aranca made getting a new car stress-free and a 10/10 experience! We shopped around at multiple VW dealerships throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia, and Hani had the best customer service by far. What really stood out was how transparent and honest he was throughout the process, and how he worked to get us the best deal possible! There was no hidden fees, no last-minute surprises, and everything was exactly as we discussed when we went to sign. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel like he was looking out for our best interests. I couldn’t be happier with our experience and recommend working with Hani to my family and friends! I know in the future when my family needs a car that we will be going to see Hani!!

  $700 TO REPLACE A BATTERY THAT LASTED 18 MONTHS King Volkswagen replaced my battery in January 2025. By August 2026, it failed after only 18 months. I was offered no discount, goodwill adjustment, or meaningful resolution toward the nearly $700 replacement. I escalated the issue to manager Dave Scott and requested a phone call. After multiple emails, Dave stated he was “not available for a phone conversation” and suggested I take my business elsewhere. After I paid and signed my paperwork on 8/13/2026, I asked Kaylee Cummins a routine question about a service coupon. Her response: “You fired me as your advisor, so you need to ask someone else.” She refused to assist me and directed me to Melanie Thompson, who also declined to assist me and referred me back to management. What began as a prematurely failed battery ultimately exposed a much larger customer-service problem. This was, without question, the worst customer-service experience I have ever experienced. Based on both the service issue and, more importantly, how it was handled by employees and manager, Dave Scott, I would strongly advise against having your vehicle serviced at King Volkswagen in Gaithersburg, MD.

  I purchased two Volkswagen vehicles from Kings Auto Store. The salesperson was friendly and professional, and my experience with the sales team was good. Unfortunately, my experience with the finance department was very disappointing. The finance manager told me that my credit score was the same as my friend’s and that we would receive the same interest rate. I found that very difficult to believe and did not feel that the explanation was clear or honest. Later, I made a cash payment, but the finance manager made a mistake while counting the cash. After that, I started receiving phone calls and text messages saying that if I did not pay the amount that same day, they would add it to my loan. I have a receipt showing that I made the payment, so I do not understand how they could threaten to add additional charges to my loan after I had already signed all of the loan documents. Receiving those messages made me feel very uncomfortable and disappointed. It caused me a lot of stress, and I felt that I was not treated fairly or professionally. Overall, the sales team did a great job, but my experience with the finance department was unacceptable. Because of the poor communication, lack of transparency, and unprofessional behavior, I cannot recommend the finance department at this dealership.😢

  Got hosed here. Bought a 2023 VW jetta brand new. I didnt even heckle the price because I want people to make a living. That being said I bought a maintance contract for 6 years and paid alot. I never brought my car here for 10k and 20k service. That being said I brought it in for 30k service. Get this they wouldnt even replace the cabin air filter. Wanted to charge me 100 for it. On top of that, this expensive contract wouldnt cover the brake flush either. Tried to charge me 200 for it even though all this is scheduled maintance. I ended up with a worthless contract that essentially covers oil changes when I was advised it covered everything. Awful customer service and won't purchase another vehicle or use their service department. What a scam. Never experienced something like this before. Took 3.5 hours with a 7 am appointment and being the first car in. They did try to sell me 2k worth of work on a car with 30k miles. This includes some work that should have been covered. Terrible place. I would be very weary of buying any contract with them. Also, their expensive synthetic oil is only good for 5k. For their price, you are better off going to a local place and getting mobil 1. Just an FYI, they wanted 1k just for rear brakes. Jettas I found out, have defective rear brakes. Do you think VW, King did anything to help? You guessed it. Nope.
