I was dealing with a difficult and unexpected issue with my mother-in-law’s car, and David Bruce went above and beyond to help me—he even assisted me out in the parking lot. His professionalism, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile made a stressful situation much easier to handle. I’m grateful for his support and the outstanding service at the Advance Auto Parts on Crestwood by Ballenger creek. Highly recommend!

The commercial salesman Aiden and the the delivery drivers David and David have been lighting quick and have great customer service skills. They have gotten me the the wrong parts before and I've had a couple defective ones as well but im still giving 5 stars because they have always made it right for me and my customers! Big shout out to the rest of the staff at that store as well!!! From Ferrells automotive, Thank you soo much for all yall do to keep my customers and I on the road in a very cost effective timely matter!!!
- JKJulie KaufmanJul 15, 20251.0The store located in Frederick, MD off Crestwood Blvd has the worst customer service and lack of incompetent workers I have ever experienced. Instead of being helpful and informative about parts for specific cars, they were the total opposite. They took advantage of the fact that most people don’t know much about cars and sold my boyfriend the wrong caliper and 2 faulty die-hard batteries. Both batteries weren’t ever at the proper CCA number for his car. When Carlos was asked about why he sold him a battery, twice, that wouldn’t ever work for his car to begin with, he got very defensive and wouldn’t speak to us anymore. Then when asked why he didn’t explain this in the first place, he told us, that ‘he doesn’t have time to explain anything when there’s customers in the building.’ Meanwhile- we were the only ones in the store and there were 2 other advanced auto part employees sitting behind the counter. They were not helpful, not friendly, not knowledgeable and unwilling to give us any answers besides the fact that everything was our fault instead of them taking any accountability. I wasn’t given corporates number or the managers number upon asking for it, I was just told to ‘google it’. Sadly, I had to give them 1 star but they deserve none!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
