  It's been almost 24 hrs and I'm still upset so... 4 of us wanted to kayak Scotchman's creek, I couldn't find anything online re: the 3 marinas over there and kayaks so we went to the fishing spot to launch so we weren't breaking any rules. It was not a great day to be on open water, there was a small craft advisory and it was only in the low 60's but we thought it would be ok once we got in the creek. We made it to Safe Harbor Hack's Point and the youngest most inexperienced member of our group capsized. He was able to climb back on once but then flipped again trying to get in the seat. As it was cold, windy, and he was wearing jeans and a hoodie, we decided it was best for him to get out of the water. One of our group went back across the Bohemia to get the car/trailer. One of us pulled him to the closest pier with a ladder, and I towed his almost full kayak to the ramp. I pulled both boats up and to the side; though still on the ramp (one full of water) and rushed to make sure he was ok. A lovely couple docked at the end of the pier gave him a dry shirt and towel. All the boaters were great. We headed back to the ramp to get ourselves together and figure out what to do. This is where it got not good. Please note, our car/trailer was not blocking the ramp, one kayak was already loaded, no one was waiting to use the ramp. An employee approached us, told us it was private and we had to leave. We explained the situation and that we were not staying but we needed a minute. He was not rude but was very insistent we leave immediately and kept saying it was private and there was a camera and he had to close the bar across the ramp; the bar we had nothing to do with being up and was not in our way with the kayaks open or closed. He kept saying his boss was calling and wanted to know why we were there and to tell us we had to leave. Then he just hovered over us uncomfortably. I want to make it clear, we couldn't have been there more than 15 minutes; and again, there was no one waiting for the ramp. We discussed how to proceed, we loaded up the other 3 kayaks, and we left. The whole incident was just not great. "Safe Harbor" showed no concern or compassion. We had an emergency situation and they were the closest to get him out of the water. Instead of saying hey, are you ok? Would you like to use our bathroom to get out of those wet clothes? We were told to leave immediately and then stood over and watched like we were doing something wrong. Forget the fact this place is literally called "Safe" Harbor, I have never felt so unwelcomed by anyone in the boating community before and I've been all over Cecil, Kent, and QA counties with my kayak. It was very disappointing.

  Great staff, new boat lifts, very clean and quiet. Best marina on the Bohemia.
