I can't say enough good things about Safelite. After my windshield service, my car's lane assist camera needed to be properly calibrated, and the team treated it like the safety feature it is. They took the time to get the calibration right and made sure everything was working exactly as it should before I left. That kind of care is rare, and it gave me real peace of mind.
A special shoutout goes to Donnell at the Capital Heights, MD! He stayed well past closing time to make sure my car was ready and safe to drive. He didn't rush, didn't cut corners, and made me feel like my situation mattered to him. That is the kind of service that turns a stressful repair into a great experience.
Professional, thorough, and genuinely caring. I'll be recommending Safelite to everyone I know, and I'll be back if I ever need them again.
Thank you, Donnell and team!

Extremely Disappointing Experience — Poor Quality Control and Customer Service
This was our 2nd attempt to have Safelite replace the windshield on our Genesis EV, and unfortunately, this experience was even worse than the first. During our first scheduled replacement, Safelite refused to replace the windshield because they stated they did not want to risk damaging the trim. We were later informed by Hyundai that the trim did not need to be replaced and could simply be snapped on and off. We ultimately removed and replaced the trim ourselves—something Safelite had the proper tools and ability to do.
For this 2nd appointment, the windshield had to be specially ordered. Safelite contacted us two days before the appointment to confirm, and we confirmed. The day before the appointment, we received confirmation through a live phone call, a text message, and an email, and we confirmed each one. Our appointment was scheduled for 7:00 a.m., and we arrived on time.
When we arrived, the store leader, Summer Wilburn, informed us that the windshield was damaged and could not be installed. We were told that the glass had not arrived until that morning and that Safelite does not inspect the glass until the day of the appointment.
This raises a very important question: Where is the quality-control process?
If the glass was delivered before the appointment, why wasn't it inspected when it arrived? And if it truly did not arrive until the morning of the appointment, why were we subjected to multiple confirmations—phone, text, and email—without anyone verifying that the required glass was actually available and in acceptable condition?
To make matters worse, the technician initially stated that he had attempted to call us that morning. We had no missed calls or unknown calls. He then acknowledged that he had called the wrong number. This added another level of frustration to an already poorly handled situation.
The interaction with the manager was also extremely disappointing. Rather than taking ownership of the situation or acknowledging the inconvenience caused, Summer Wilburn repeatedly talked over us and was dismissive of our concerns. Her primary response was essentially that this was simply Safelite's process. A process that results in customers arriving for a confirmed 7:00 a.m. appointment only to discover that the product was damaged and had apparently never been inspected is a process that needs improvement.
We had to take time out of our day, make the trip to the location, and use electricity to charge our EV for a trip that ultimately could have been avoided with basic quality control and communication.
We have now escalated the matter to the district manager and are waiting for a response. This experience leaves us questioning:
Where is the quality control?
Why wasn't the windshield inspected when it arrived?
Why were we repeatedly asked to confirm the appointment if the glass had not been verified?
Why was the customer not notified before arriving at the facility?
Who takes responsibility for the customer's wasted time, travel, and expense?
Why was the situation handled so dismissively by the manager?
Mistakes happen, but what matters is how a company responds to them. In this situation, the lack of preparation, communication, accountability, and customer service was extremely disappointing.
After two experiences trying to have a windshield replaced on the same vehicle, I would expect Safelite to have a much better process for handling specialized vehicle glass and customer appointments. We are hopeful that the district manager, Freddy, will take this complaint seriously and provide an appropriate resolution.
**Update**: It has now been four days, and district manager Freddy has still not contacted us as promised. This lack of follow-up is disappointing and speaks volumes about Safelite’s commitment to customer satisfaction. We will not continue spending our money with a company that provides poor service and fails to address customer concerns.
