- AJAlexiaa JordanOct 14, 20265.0So not only is the store well run, the general manager Perry is a mechanic, a problem solver, and a solution-oriented teammate who went above and beyond to help me with my auxiliary battery problem! I didn't even understand what the problem with my battery was, I just knew I needed to change it. And in changing it, we ran into several hurdles. Hurdles that other people would have said were insurmountable, but Perry found the solutions. She found the problem, sources the right tools, thought through how to fix a stuck screw, all while managing other customers and the team. I heard this was a good advanced Auto parts, but Perry as the general manager just put it over the top. Thank you advanced Auto parts for hiring her, keep her around. And I like your business model - allowing people to change the batteries/use parts so they can do it themselves - it gives a light community feel that's really important.

Almost three years exactly. Derek B and Perdo(?). Replaced the battery which was still under warranty. Those guys were very professional. Would recommend this store.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
