I wanted to tell you about my most recent experience with this location of Advance Auto Parts and the outstanding customer service provided by Derek R. It was early this morning (9:47 am) and I was on my way to a seminar. The seminar had already started at 9:00 in Virginia. The fob to my car needed the battery to be replaced. Unfortunately, the KIA dealer ship was closed. Divine intervention (The LORD) told me to go to this Advanced Auto Parts location. I did, and Derek R. got the correct battery for my 2 key fobs. It was less than $15.00 and he also replaced the batteries himself. I'm so very appreciative of him going the extra mile for me!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
