  1 star is to many. Absolutely bold face liars. Was quoted a price, and when car was finished was told a $1000 more. Once we went over the invoice, noticed we were over charged for everything. Desk lady blamed tech, tech blamed manager, manager blamed regional manager, absolutely clown show. Wouldn't bring my lawnmower to get repaired there. Absolute worst experience ever.

  Went in for 4 new tires, a spare, and an alignment. Got new tires, forgot to do the alignment, had to wait. Broke my door handle off, too. Got home, realied they didn't give me the spare, either. Currently waiting on them to have my new door handle shipped and to pick up the spare they forgot. $500 dollars for this, btw. Would not recommend.

  Had an Issue With closing my hood. Key the very kind Lady at the front desk was able to take me in right away and get my hood fixed so I was able to get home safely. She was super nice and helped me through the process and kept me up to date with what the mechanics were doing. The labor was $185 which in my opinion a bit much but they took me in right away and I was back on the road within an hour. Definitely recommend if you want quick service.

  I had an issue with my TPMS's being unsynced from my wheels on my GR Corolla. I couldn't get them to re-sync and didnt want to pay $150 to have the dealer look at it. I called Melvin's and Alek D. (Normally from the Smithfield location) Answered and told me to swing by and they'll look at it. He used his TPMS tool and told me they were putting out a signal but that they my not sync and I may still have to take it to the dealer but he reset them just to try it out. I drove no more than 3 miles and all the TPMS's synced again and I was good to go. Alek didn't charge me anything but I had to go back and let him know the reset worked. He didnt have to help me and at no charge. I will 100% be going back here for my next tire purchase or service. This is how you create customer loyalty!

  The repair was repeatedly misdiagnosed, and I was given completion dates that were missed over and over again. For more than two months, I had to constantly chase the shop for updates because they rarely communicated unless I called first. At one point, I was even told to stop calling and had an employee hang up on me. Meanwhile, my wife and our two young children were repeatedly left without reliable transportation. The most disturbing part was discovering the condition of my vehicle after Melvin's worked on it. A Jeep dealership found that nearly every dashboard component had been damaged, with numerous trim pieces broken, missing, or even taped together. The clock spring had been damaged, the stereo touchscreen had been removed, and the A/C system was still leaking despite the repairs I had already paid for. What started as a simple A/C repair ultimately resulted in approximately $18,000 in damage to my vehicle. Only after weeks of unanswered calls, repeated broken promises, involving Mavis executives and Liberty Mutual did Melvin's accept responsibility. Even then, I had to do most of the follow-up myself to keep the claim moving. Mistakes can happen at any repair shop. However, the lack of communication, poor workmanship, repeated delays, and failure to take responsibility until an insurance claim was involved made this experience unacceptable. I would never trust Melvin's with another vehicle and strongly encourage anyone considering service there to look elsewhere.
