- MFMike FanaleSep 26, 20261.0I visited this Sullivan Tire location twice in roughly two months and had two troubling experiences with tire-replacement recommendations. On the first visit, I came in for an alignment. The alignment was performed, but I was told it might not be successful and was verbally quoted about $650 for four new tires. I asked for a written estimate but was not given one. I declined and later had my regular shop inspect the tires; they advised I could safely continue using them and get more life out of the set. On the second visit, I was told that nail holes in both rear tires could not be repaired and was verbally quoted about $850 for four new tires. Again, I requested a written estimate and was not provided one. I declined and took the vehicle directly to my regular shop, which inspected the tires and repaired both punctures rather than replacing the tires. These were two separate visits with two different representatives, but both resulted in recommendations to replace all four tires. I cannot speak to the store’s reasons, but after two immediate second opinions produced much less expensive and apparently successful outcomes, I no longer have confidence in this location’s recommendations. I recommend that customers ask to see the precise issue being identified, request tire tread-depth measurements and written documentation, and consider a second opinion before authorizing replacement work.
