  okay, i hated the other car rental companies that i'm currently using - i realized how good the national rental service was - especially at boston airpot. the other rental companies - for instance, gave lesser car, whereas the national gave the abudance of car choices - which was impressive. i thought the rest of the rental companies were going to be like this. i was dead, dead wrong. no other companies come close to natinoal rental car. other issue was that national car rental did not charge the security deposit - or like $1, whereas the others, charged $250. what the hell? national also, despite the fact that i rented from 12pm to 12pm - the actual rental rate began when i actually rented - the time stamp was there. and there were so many other little things that i was impressed with national, which made me to take time to fill out national car rentals. still very frustrated at other rental companies that in the future if i see the ones that gave me trouble - i'd avoid. whereas national car rental? yeah, this good experience lead me to look forward and going forward, i'm gonna be travelling a lot, i look forward to rent out from the national car. At Boston Airport, you'll be very happy with National Car rental for sure.

  I have used National because of their ease of service, “Skip the Line”. This was also the case with my recent rental. However, I encountered a major problem and there was no solution. I had reserved a small SUV, as I an 76 years old and tall. Upon my arrival at the National terminal, there were very few cars to chose from and no SUVs, so I had to settle for a small Hyundai Elantra sedan—built very low to the ground. I had to endure the discomfort of entering and exiting this vehicle for 12 days. National somehow needs to insure that type of car that is reserved is certainly available to the customer upon arrival.

  I think Charlotte is the manager at this location. She is calm, collective, and a provided me with great rental car service. I explained to her that my rental is for a special occasion and I had reserved a big SUV. Charlotte said wait here please. She came back and handed me the key to the vehicle that met all my needs to haul family around downtown Boston. Thank you, Charlotte!! However, when I returned the vehicle, this one short, small, teenager looking guy kept yelling at me even before I got out of the car, "Is that it?" and "Any things wrong with the car?" He kept repeating it in my face until I told him to stop and I get out of the car. I told him airbag light is on all the time and he directed me, "Go back inside, sit, and show me!" I did. Then, I told him I had refueled gas and it is full. Can I get a printout receipt? He again in a rude manner said, "We will email you!" Today August 6th, I opened my email final receipt and National charged me $159.71 for a full tank refuel. I picked up this vehicle with a full fuel tank and its odometer reading at 5,800 miles; I returned with odometer reading at 5,874 miles. I drove 74 miles. The GLS 450 can go 450-570 miles on a full tank of gas. If I drove 74 miles, how can it be empty? In fact, it was not even half emptied, I paid only $58.78 to refuel to full tank with my credit card luckily. I refueled at the Shell literally next to the National Rental Return structure.

  FYI fellow one way renters dropping a diff location: this BOS location makes up fake rules and lie to you about one-way car type restrictions. As we walked to lanes, they solicited info and once heard we rent one way, told us sedans only. Told them sorry that’s not written anywhere in reservation agreement. They then pointed to a white minivan, said how about sedans only or THIS minivan. As if we didn’t know how it works as an exec member. Told them you can’t make up new rules and why don’t you watch us. Picked a favorite SUV from executive aisle and checked out as smoothly as last 20 years all over North America. Note: our little kids speculate they are doing this to only give other sister locations unpopular car models. So, wanted you all to know this if they harass you like that.

  5 Stars for this very reason : no issues with the drop off : no issues with pick up (as far as the process) : I would like to commend the consistency : overall- staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful (even the counter staff inside terminals) I gave 4 star because . . . : staff should be versed to when a customer returns for swap due to maintenance and the process, if unsure . .it is ok to be unsure and to advise the customer that issue needs to be resolved by someone more experienced (can't speak for all persons, but at least for me, I appreciate the communication and opportunity for another staff to learn how to do a task that would not only help them but the customer too) : consistent issues with communication from back team to drive out team : I understand the turnover time from return to rental can be small, but please vacuum the vehicle and at least wipe the fingerprints off the monitors/mirrors or other notable surfaces - I am a long term "NATIONAL" customer and I am here (and have been here) for all the wrinkles and non-wrinkles. I feel no process is perfect and there is always room for improvement or tweaking a bit. National definitely has my attention for both personal and business. Thank you and look forward to the future.
