  I booked via expedia yesterday. Was sruck in traffic and I called andspoke to an agent to modify my reservation he refused saying that he cannot change/ modify because I did not book via the website. I lost my money just like that. I always use Expedia. Very insensitive and inconsiderate personel!! Never again will I choose this rental company.

  BEWARE: Surprise Damage Claims & Poor Customer Service My family went for a summer trip at the beginning of June 2026 and rented a car from SIXT. Picked up at Washington National Airport, drove away, noticed a dent on the rear wing when arrived at the pre-booked hotel, which was about 8 miles from the airport, and within 30 minutes, and took pictures. Stupidly, we did not take pictures or video at the pickup, and did not report the dent immediately, because we had rented cars from Hertz and other companies and had never have any issue, and neither did we read reviews or the class action lawsuit against Sixt on fraudulent damage claims, and most of all, we knew it absolutely was not our fault. Sixt sent a claim on this damage and billed more than $700. We emailed to dispute but did not get a response, called but never got answered. The most ridiculous thing was, they attached a manifestly fake repair estimate. Who knows how many times this damage and estimate have been used against customers. AND, they “kindly and thoughtfully” instructed us to use our credit card provider or insurance company. Reporting to BBB and local attorney general. Three tips: take your business somewhere else; watch out a silver Subaru Crosstrek with a New York license if you have to rent from them; video or take pictures of the rental vehicle comprehensively and thoroughly both at pickup and drop off, every inch.

  Stand in line watching them try to aggressively upsell their customers for 30 min then when my time comes 1 employee literally walks away and the other calls me over and then begins talking to other employees while I am trying to talk to her and get my reservation. Turns out she is the manager too... absolutely ridiculous way too many rental options just go to any other one I have used almost every other with priceline and they Sixt just happen to say they were the lowest price. Which is not true actually. Best stay clear of them

  Free upgrade upon arrival, but the Sequoia we were given had low oil and I needed to buy a quart just to get it close to half. Then I had a question about driving into Canada and every customer service rep said I had to drive into Boston (nearest counter) to get permission to travel to Quebec. Had I looked at my RA or had they told me that the information was in my RA, it would’ve saved me a 5 hours round trip from Portland into Boston to find out I was fine. For some reason the SIXT rep in Boston told me I needed a different car and gave me another car. Won’t rent from SIXT again.

  By far the worst experience with a rental car company. I highly suggest you stay far away from this company. After returning my car, I got a "damage report" for a scratch for 5-10cm long which was non-existent and just false. The report was pictures of the wrong part of the car that was being told I scratched. This then started a long dispute with this company that has gone nowhere. The customer service is atrocious and just not useful at all. I've talked to 4 different people who have told me false information and emailed 3 more. All to get the run around and be told you have to talk to the person. Learn from my mistake and A. Dont book with this company. If you do book with them B. Then take LOTS of pictures and videos of the entire car before and after you drop the car off. They will say you "scratched" the car to get a few extra hundred bucks out of you. To whoever reads this. Avoid them. Book with someone else.
