  I originally booked a midsize SUV to travel to Buffalo for my best friend’s graduation. However, from the moment I arrived at the pickup location, the experience was a disaster: Vehicle Downgrade: The Amherst location had no midsize SUVs available as booked, and I was given an economy car instead. Unacceptable Vehicle Condition: Upon inspecting the car, I immediately noticed a terrible marijuana smell. I reported this to the agent before driving off the lot, but he completely dismissed my concerns and said "it's all good." When I arrived home, my significant other instantly noticed the overwhelming smell as well. Wasted Time and Refused Service: The smell was so strong it gave me a severe headache. I spent my entire day calling multiple locations to get the car switched. A customer service representative instructed me to drive to the Greenfield, MA location to swap vehicles. After making that drive, the local representative turned me away, stating they had nothing available. Missed Life Event: Because I lost my entire day driving around trying to fix a problem your team dismissed, I was forced to cancel my trip and completely missed my best friend's graduation. Unfair Charges and Poor Attitude: Defeated, I returned the car to the Amherst location the very next morning and reported everything that happened. The staff did not acknowledge their mistake, offered no apologies, and simply charged me $53 + enterprise points worth one day for keeping the car for one day. In short, I lost money, the Enterprise points I used to book the reservation, an entire day of my time, and a deeply important personal milestone. To make matters worse, I previously called customer support about this and was promised a callback from the regional office. I have yet to receive one. Also, a huge red flag that enterprise doesn’t have a customer support feedback mail. Even if you call the support, they will just say that they can’t do anything about these issues and it’s the regional office which takes decisions who we don’t have any communications point. Completely dissatisfied.

  John (Amherst, MA) really went above and beyond. It wasn't only exceptional customer service, it is the human being that he is that shines through the retail and corporate role, that probably can't be properly expressed in the typical job evaluation or customer review. Enterprise is beyond fortunate to have him on your team. Our interactions were quick though in my circumstances of losing my car to an accident during a blizzard I really appreciated the care he took to answer my questions and advise me about things involving the extension of my rental by the insurance company and how I would be able to return the rental to the location in CT where I was picking up my new vehicle. I have had many good experiences with Enterprise. I can't think of any negative ones over 20 or so years. This one was over the top. If John gets to read this, my heartfelt thanks again for making a difference in my quality of life during this incident!
