  On 05/31/26, we brought our vehicle (2024 Kia Soul with about 40,000 miles on it & in perfect condition) to the Valvoline location on Hwy 80 in Haughton for what should have been a routine oil change. Before arriving, we had spent several hours out running errands and at the movies with no warning lights, no oil-related issues, and no known problems with the vehicle. After the oil change, a low engine oil warning appeared on my dash. We asked the Assistant Manager why the light was on & what happened. He told us that it would go off once we drove it. Once we arrived home, we inspected the vehicle and discovered a disconnected wiring component/harness located next to the oil filter area where work had just been performed. The wiring harness was stripped out & disconnected.... just raw wires hanging. We immediately began documenting the issue and contacting the company. Since then, we have spoken with the location, corporate representatives, and the claims department. The company stated it reviewed video footage from the service. We requested additional information regarding that determination but have not received a satisfactory explanation of what the footage allegedly showed. To be clear, we are not claiming to know exactly what happened. If evidence exists showing the issue was present before service, we would accept that. However, based on the timeline, the location of the disconnected wiring, and the immediate appearance of the warning light after service, we remain concerned about how this situation was handled. At this point, we are sharing our experience so that others can be aware and make their own decisions. We have photos, receipts, and documentation of our communications with the company. We finally heard back today from management. HE TOLD ME TO COME BACK TO THE STORE & HE WOULD GIVE ME $20. This is supposed to reimburse me for the additional work that had to be done to fix their screw up, but he would only pay for the materials needed to repair, but NOTHING for the mechanic fees, taxes, or gas. He says this is all he can do for me. So, I paid over $80 for an oil change & I'm still out the $209.94 that it took me to repair damage that they caused. Just doesn't feel like I have been made whole at all. Absolutely insane to me that they think somehow that I was made whole by a $20 bill.

  Upset? Most definitely, I've been to this location for my last 3 vehicles, ie a decade or longer. Today, the new "manager' was rather rude and then after I presented him with my "forever" coupon, ie no experation date was taken and NEVER returned to me which they have ALWAYS DONE. When I asked "please may I get my coupon back" he ceremoniously handed me a completely different coupon for the Next visit. With nothing more to say. handed me another "managers" number to call. Probably gonna find a new place, even after all these years.
