I had a very disappointing experience with John Nolan’s Auto Service.
I made an appointment to drop my vehicle off on a Thursday and was told the diagnostic would be completed that afternoon. When I called later that day, I was told it wasn’t ready and that it would be looked at first thing Friday morning. Friday came and went, and when I called that evening, it still wasn’t done. They only told me they thought it might be something related to the alternator. I called again on Saturday, and they were still looking at it. They were closed Sunday, and when I called Monday, it still hadn’t been diagnosed.
Finally, on Tuesday—after being without my car for 6½ days—I received a call saying I needed a belt idler pulley, drive belt, and belt tensioner. I was quoted approximately $1,200 for the repair, plus a $100 diagnostic fee.
That price seemed extremely high, so I called Creed Automotive, my regular mechanic. The only reason I didn’t go there initially was because my vehicle has a warranty and John Nolan’s was in-network. Unfortunately, the needed repairs weren’t covered under the warranty anyway.
Creed Automotive gave me a quote within 30 minutes. The shop purchased the parts from Honda, and they had the repairs completed in about 5 hours. My total repair bill was $527.68, which was about 56% less than John Nolan’s repair quote.
The communication throughout the entire process at John Nolan’s was terrible. I constantly had to call for updates, deadlines kept getting pushed back, and I was rarely given any proactive information.
To make matters worse, when I dropped my car off, I specifically asked them to patch a nail in one of my tires. When I called to let them know I was coming to pick up the vehicle, I asked if it would be ready within about an hour, and they assured me it would. I arrived an hour and a half later, and it still wasn’t ready. Then they informed me that I had a leak in my tire—the exact tire I had asked them to repair when I first dropped the vehicle off.
Between the excessive repair quote, poor communication, repeated delays, and failure to complete a simple tire repair that I specifically requested, I cannot recommend John Nolan’s based on my experience.

Same day Saturday service for a market priced radiator flush.
I am not one to leave negative reviews, but this was an exceptionally awful experience. I had a small repair that came up on a new vehicle inspection for a Carvana vehicle. John Nolan was one of the local shops under Carvana's warranty (SilverRock) that was open on Saturdays so I decided to go there. I called, explained the issue, and made an appointment.
I drove to the shop that Saturday, and was told that my repair could not be done on Saturdays as they didn't have the right crew on staff, they did not have the part I needed, and it was actually multi-hour repair that required a dropoff! This never came up on my original call. Oh well, mistakes happen. I scheduled a dropoff for the next week and adjusted my work schedule accordingly.
The day before the repair, I called to confirm that everything was still good. They said yes, I should drop off the car that night and I would get the car back the following day. Great!
I call the next afternoon, and am told that they haven't even started on the repair and that they could not quote when it would be done (even though they had already done so twice incorrectly). It might be the next day. They told me I would have to call back myself to get updates.
After quickly finding a new repair shop, I called back a few minutes later to cancel the repair. Lo and behold, my car was now on the lift! The John Nolan crew disagreed with the initial vehicle inspection and indicated that my vehicle was not in need of repair.
The mechanic, Carlos, was kind enough to send me videos explaining his opinion on this which I genuinely appreciated and is the only reason this is not a 1 Star review.
When we picked up the car, they charged us for inspecting the vehicle since they did not do the repair! SilverRock's website explictely states that work should not begin until approved by them. To their credit, they ended up refunding us but I had to argue for it.
Everyone has bad days, and it's possible that I am just exceptionally unlucky in how this all shook out, but I would be very careful in using this shop if you are on a tight schedule for repairs or using a SilverRock warranty.
