  I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this location was frustrating. When I visited to rent a Penske truck, the employee I spoke with seemed unwilling to help from the beginning. During our conversation, she told me, “I don’t think we can rent it to you,” which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. I understand that rental companies have policies and requirements, but customers should be treated with respect and provided with clear explanations. Instead, I felt like my business was not welcome. I would suggest considering another Penske rental location if customer service is important to you. I hope management reviews this situation and works on improving the way customers are treated.

  I had a very disappointing experience at this Penske rental location. The customer service representative was rude and unprofessional during our conversation. Before even reviewing all the details, she stated, “I don’t think we can rent it to you,” which I found disrespectful and unhelpful as a customer. Good customer service should involve listening to customers and explaining policies professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on my visit today around 9:00 AM on June 15, I would not recommend this location for Penske truck rentals. I hope management reviews the customer service practices at this office and works to improve the customer experience.

  Reserving the truck was painless and very simple doing it over the phone. I needed the truck at 7 am on a Monday to make sure I was at certain destinations, at certain times. Received a phone call about a week prior confirming the reservation and texts confirming it. Even a text over the weekend to provide my drivers license information to make the pick up quicker. Received a phone call the day of the pickup at 6:20 am asking if I could push my reservation back to "around 8 am" because they "didn't have the truck". I told them I couldn't wait until 8 am and asking for a larger truck. They said they didn't have one to give me at 7 am. Was told I could drive to Clarksville, IN to pick it up if I wanted it sooner, so I did. Get to the Home Depot in Clarksville, IN and waited for nearly 45 minutes because the clerk was not able to process my payment with the credit authorization form I had. He called the Middletown Penske at least 5 times until he spoke with someone who actually knew what they were doing. I was offered/given an additional 20% discount for the troubles, but the money wasn't an issue because it wasn't coming out of my pocket. It was the time lost. If I would have known the truck wasn't going to be there Monday morning, I would have picked it up in Clarksville, IN on Sunday evening to prevent what happened this morning. Employees were polite and professional, truck is nice, and I would give more stars if not for the issue this morning.
