Up until now I have been using this company and this particular location for over 10 years. About a year ago, I had a flat tire and I knew that I was going to have to get new tires. I bought two new tires, and asked them to move the front tires to the back and put the new tires on the front, which they did. When I got home and reviewed my invoice, I saw that they had charged me around $45 for various small services that had nothing to do with installing new tires. About 6 months ago, I had an issue with the fan for my air conditioner, so I brought it back to Goodyear to have that fixed, which they did. While I was there, I told them about being overcharged and they credited me back that $45. Well today, I took my car into them because I had picked up a screw in one of my back tires. They patched the tire for me, and while they were working on it they called me to tell me that I probably needed two new tires in the back and that I only had 4/32, something to do with the tread. He asked if I would like to buy new tires today, I asked him how long he thinks those back tires will last, he said probably another 8 months or so, so I told him I will get those tires at a different time and to please just go ahead and repair that one tire. When I arrived to pick up my car, it was still sitting in the bay but on the ground. The manager explained to me that the reason it was still in the bay is because none of the mechanics know how to drive a stick shift. ...Wow. So I pay for the repair, start driving home, and there is this god-awful metal on metal screech coming from the very wheel whose tire they had just patched. I turned my car around and brought it straight back, they put it up on the rack and couldn't get it to squeak (?), so they found another manager type person who can drive a stick, he drove it around for a little while and finally got it to squeak. So they put it up on the rack, called me back there 10 minutes later after 4 guys stood around staring at it, joking and hee-hawing and laughing and looking at their cell phones, and told me that I need a brake job. They showed me that the brakes on both back wheels were worn all the way down. I pointed out that, first of all, 6 months ago they rotated my front tires to the back and no word was said to me about brakes, and they admitted that they should have caught that at that time. Then I pointed out that normally when brakes start wearing out there is a thin squeak that you hear for a long time before you actually have to start getting anything done, and that prior to bringing my car in for the patch job today, I had no squeak at all from any wheel. Pointed out that I went from zero squeak to a metal on metal screech after just having them patch that tire, and I was told that that was just coincidence. They told me it was going to cost $450. I told them that I will go ahead and pay that today because my car is up on a rack and there are no back tires on it and apparently I have no brakes so I don't have a choice, but told them that this is the second glaring error I've had from them in less than a year and that I will not be doing business with them anymore, also told them that I will be contacting the corporate office to get reimbursed for what I'm getting done. So the guy ended up typing on his computer for about 5 minutes, and then suddenly told me that they are going to do the brake job for me in 1 hour and that they are not going to charge me a penny for it. Makes me wonder, if I had decided to go ahead and buy those two new tires today, would I have had a brake issue? That's just too many crooked things in too short of a period of time and I am done.
