- MMMoZenAug 5, 20265.0My battery was dying so I stopped by Advance Auto Parts on East Lowry Lane and Nicholasville Road and asked for help.. they are always very helpful and this time a young lady by the name of Brie was behind the cash register.. she was super helpful and helped me find the right battery and also I am a UK employee and she saw my badge and gave me an employee discount that was very nice to have. This is for all my UK colleagues go there their discount for UK is noticeably nice. Ms. Brie then proceeded to help me change the battery and the car being almost twelve years old had some stubborn screws and parts they were hard to detach to get to the battery. She worked very hard and diligently to replace the battery and had a great smile and personality all along despite the heat and the cumbersome task. I will recommend this location over all other places and please ask For Ms. Brie when you go there. She will help you with joy and great smile. Thank you all.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
