- JGJason GobleMay 19, 20213.0I Love automotive stores to go in and look around and see if there is anything new there for me to use to personalize my truck with. And usually they do. And also they can get just about anymore for any vehicle toy can think of. But the only bad thing I have to say about them is they don't sell rebuild kits for older model 350 chevys or any older model v8. They sell each item speratly where it will cost a lot more than just buying a rebuild kit and having it done and over with which I think is kinda. Harsh toward anyone who wants to build their own motor and save themselves some morney's. I mean isn't that what going to an auto parts store is all about. But ya know other than that which is what I'm needing at the moment I have no complaints other than sometimes them sending someone else home with the wrong part or giving you the wrong part telling you that it would work. But if those things there hadn't happened to me b4 I would most definerly give them a 5 star rating.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
