My first time having to deal with a complete windscreen replacement and Safelite made the process so easy for me. I drove into them for an inspection and we determined how to move forward. They ordered the parts and set a follow-up service appointment when the parts arrived and they did the replacement in about 2 hours. They handled everything from sourcing the OEM part, liaising with my insurance company and effecting the installation. Thank you guys for a comprehensive service made really easy!

A year ago I hesitantly used Safelite to replace a windshield. Customer service was great at the time and I was happy with the service. Here I am a year later and my initial hesitancy was well founded. DO NOT use Safelite if you have a newer car with sensors/cameras in the windshield. Safelite neglected to mention that they were putting after market glass in my car. They had access to factory glass I was told now but I was not offered that at the time nor told that aftermarket would be installed. I'm disappointed with the lack of transparency there. I have a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLE 63 and my windshield has a camera in it. The aftermarket glass camera bracket was not made for this camera or car and jostled loose soon after because it was not designed to fit. I have been getting a notification from my car that a 'camera view is restricted' for a long time and did not realize it had anything to do with the windshield. The car was getting me from point A to B and I'm a busy Mom and just left it alone. My fault on that delay. 100%. Not Safelite. I had it in the shop for a service recently and asked them to look at the notification I was getting. I was told it was due to the aftermarket glass and given a price to fix it. I told them not to touch it and that I wanted to chat with Safelite as they had done the intial work and calibration and see what my options were. After finally getting through their nightmare automated system I spoke with customer service and was told that they would completely replace it with the proper windshield. I was surprised but thrilled obviously. That was great news. I came in for my appointment today only to be told that they had no intention of ever touching my car and this appointment was only because I had requested it. The warranty would not cover. I said multiple times that I could understand the warranty not covering. It was a full year later and that was my fault as I hadn't paid attention to the notification all this time, but if that was the case I wanted a new service scheduled to fix it and I was willing to pay for it. I wanted a factory windshield put on it so things worked properly or to get a recalibration at the very least to see if that might fix it for the time being. A professional recommendation of what to do to repair at the very least because they had been the ones to complete the original work. I wasn't making an issue about the warranty and fully understood why they couldn't honor that after a year. That was on me. After multiple go arounds with Larry of him refusing to look at it and me asking why I couldn't pay for the new diagnostic and service to be performed, he supposedly tried to put his diagnostic machine on it and then told me his software wasn't working this morning or with my car and that since 'we couldn't come to an agreement' he was refusing to work on it period...? He was incredible unhelpful on all accounts and also said verbatim 'this happens all the time'. He kept asking 'why can't the dealership recalibrate it?'. You guys did the work, I'm here NOW, the dealership is and hour and 20 away, it's why I made this appointment Larry. Like how is that helpful at all?? Just be aware that you are likely getting an aftermarket part and Safelite is an actual nightmare to get on the phone or deal with when you are trying to get to the bottom of an issue later on. I was incredibly frustrated at their waste of my time this morning and the dishonesty in the entire exchange. Larry was simply following orders and I get that. But the entire thing smelled like they knew it was their fault and wasn't about to fix it or potentially be at risk of admitting fault while diagnosing. Even when I was trying to pay for a whole new service and windshield knowing full well it was zero percent their fault that I neglected to handle my error message within the warranty window. Their price was still likely better than the dealership and it would have saved time and money by being able to get it done closer to home. Not a great experience and zero customer service or professional help.
