If I had the option I would give this place 0 stars. I came to this shop because my car had broke down (obviously). It is a crank no start and I told the mechanic that it was running fine and then it was parked for a few hours and it wouldn’t start anymore. He told me he’d look into it and I left him to diagnose the car for a few days. After about a week I hadn’t gotten a call back about my car so I had called, after a few days of calling and getting no answer I had FINALLY gotten an answer. He told me that with the type of engine my car has it had seemed like my timing belt had broken and I needed a new engine. Here’s the catch: in this same phone call he told me he hasn’t taken the cover off to fully look at the engine that he said had blown. (Also, timing belts don’t break when the car is off!) He told me a USED engine would cost me $4000 for him to order and install it. I had just lost my job and I obviously didn’t have $4000 to put down on an engine so I told him I will wait a little and let him know what I decided to do. After talking to my mother (who is a mechanic) she didn’t think the used engine should cost $4000 especially if he hadn’t made sure i really needed a new engine. We tried talking him down on the price and he didn’t budge, we also asked for a payment plan to which he said i would pay $2000 now and then $2000 in 2-3 days when he was done. With that we decided to just have it towed home and get a second opinion somewhere else. Upon arriving to pickup my car we had seen that he took off my coil packs and had just thrown them on the floorboard of the car. I honestly don’t know why the coil packs were taken off but maybe he should’ve put my car back together before I picked it up? Anyways, fast forward to today and I got a call from my second opinion. It turns out that yes, it is an engine problem, but my timing belt is fully intact! I don’t know if this mechanic was trying to up the price on something that wasn’t wrong with my car because I’m a young woman but it is INSANE that he would blatantly tell me it was one thing and then follow that up with telling me he didn’t even fully LOOK at the thing he said was broken. I don’t recommend coming here and I hope that he hasn’t “fixed” someone’s car without knowing what’s actually wrong with it.
