  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I want to give A&A Auto & Truck Parts in Topeka a well-deserved five-star review for my experience buying a used engine from them. My Ford Escape had been giving me problems, and after replacing the spark plugs, coil packs, radiator, and chasing several other issues, I finally had to decide whether to replace the engine or the vehicle. I found remanufactured engines around $2,000 and used engines around $1,200. Since my Escape is paid off, I wanted to keep it going if I could find a good used engine at a price I could afford. I’ll be honest—I’m not an engine mechanic. I was nervous about buying a used engine, especially one with higher mileage than my vehicle. Before calling A&A, I read their reviews. A lot were from regular people who, like me, aren’t experts in engines. That stood out to me because I didn’t want to be the customer who failed to ask the right questions and then blamed the business. I used to own a business myself, and I always appreciated customers who asked questions. It made my job easier. I believe customers should research and ask questions, while businesses should be honest about what they know, provide the information they have, and stand behind what they sell. That’s exactly how I felt A&A treated me. I called Thursday, and they walked me through their website and helped me make sure I was purchasing the correct engine. They answered my questions about what was included, the compression results, and the condition of the engine. The numbers, appearance, and warranty gave me confidence in the purchase. I never felt like they took advantage of the fact that I wasn’t very knowledgeable. My mechanic has since looked the engine over and was happy with what he saw. He was especially happy that it came with a working water pump. Apparently, that made his night. 😂 The engine hasn’t been installed yet, so I’m not reviewing its performance. This review is about the buying experience, the condition of what I received, the information A&A provided, and how I was treated. One thing I also want to mention: before finding A&A, I called County Line Auto Parts in Kansas City, Missouri. They didn’t have the engine I needed, but instead of trying to sell me something else, they recommended A&A and said they had heard nothing but good things about them. I appreciated that. Two businesses didn’t have to tear each other down. One simply helped a customer find someone who could help. As I was leaving, the forklift driver even stayed about five minutes late to load my engine because we were almost late. He told me, “That’s what we’re known for—good parts at a decent price.” That meant something to me. I may not have a lot of money to spend, but I can recognize when somebody treats me fairly. Businesses can only stand behind what they can actually inspect and verify. They can’t know everything about a part’s future. What they can do is be honest, answer questions, provide the information they have, and stand behind what they sell. That’s what I feel A&A did for me. Thank you to everyone at A&A for making this process easier than I expected. Five stars from me—not because I can predict the future, but because I know how I was treated today.

  Oh man, stay away from this place if it's at all possible ! Stopped in to get an aluminum wheel and 2 used tires and the woman behind the counter said they had everything and if I pay now, I can pick up everything next Friday, it was Monday ! 10 or 11 days to pull 2 tires, because the wheel was on a shelf, I don't think so, I'll pass... Especially seeing how they tried to charge me a core charge on tires and a wheel , nothing of which are ever going to be rebuilt lol so absolutely no reason for a core charge on top of the outrageous prices for USED tires and wheel ! I personally have been in the salvage yard industry since 1998, and that was highway robbery, well almost, I said no thanks and walked out laughing to myself...

  Bought Dodge/Chrysler 3.7 engine from them with about 190k. Engine has been handling very good so far. No codes, big leaks, everything in good shape. Front desk was friendly and manager was on top of things. They grabbed and loaded it same day. My personal experience I was very impressed.

  When I called back about a new used set of tires I spoke with a very kind woman named Ashlea, she was extremely helpful and was able to give me an accurate, affordable quote. I called to confirm in-store payment for the tires and was able to come in just an hour later. When I arrived a quick test was done on the tires and they were able to give me a good description of their exact condition before payment. I highly recommend and I’ll definitely be purchasing from A&A auto and trucks parts inc. again! Thank you Ashlea for all of your help and experience!!!
