The people were kind on the phone and answered every question I had. (Stars are for the kind person on the phone) However, I spent over a grand in two days (I had to go twice since the problem was not resolved) and my car was still not fixed. I went to another mechanic and they charged me less than half the price and my car is working perfectly now. Mind you, the problem was with a serpentine belt. Overcharged without providing a real solution to my car. If I could go back in time, I would have just towed my car elsewhere.

I brought my vehicle into Mission Auto KC after a rear end accident. They did great work and two things stood out. After beginning the work on my vehicle, they determined that a part they previously thought would have to be replaced, only had a damaged washer. They replaced the washer and did not charge me for the new part. They also replaced a license plate light that was not on the estimate for free, after a slight delay on the work. It’s great to find an honest and reliable mechanic in Kansas City.

After some back and forth on what the issue might have been, Mission Auto came in clutch with diagnosing and solving my problem. They even helped on on a battery warranty issue from another company. Highly recommend!

I brought my 2008 Honda Accord to Mission Auto KC for an A/C issue and paid $253.38 after tax for their diagnostic service. They diagnosed the problem as a failed ECU and recommended ECU replacement, but they provided no written explanation, test results, or evidence to support that conclusion but simply told you to replace it. Wow! I specifically asked if they checked the wiring, and I was told it was not a wiring issue. However, after taking the vehicle to two other shops, including the Honda dealership, the ECU was confirmed to be working properly. Even my own ECU swap testing showed the ECU was not the problem. The actual issue was eventually traced to a broken wire between the fuse box and the A/C compressor. My concern is that the diagnostic fee was charged for troubleshooting, including checking possible wiring faults, but based on the final findings it appears the wiring was either not properly tested or the diagnosis was incomplete. I requested a partial refund because I paid for a diagnosis that led me toward an unnecessary ECU replacement, but the manager refused and responded in a very rude and dismissive manner. Customers trust repair shops to provide accurate troubleshooting, not expensive guesses. If you bring your vehicle here for an A/C issue, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion. Otherwise, you may be told about unusual and costly “causes” without enough proof. Customers deserve better communication and accountability. I stand by my comments. Multiple communications with the shop only got me dismissive responses. The diagnosis (let alone it’s a misdiagnosis) is extremely expensive. Go to other shop that charge for a flat rate for detailed AC diagnosis (which including electrical, not like them). Update: They just sent me a written explanation for their reasoning, 9:26 am, 07/30/2026. But unfortunately the conclusion of a failed ECU (car computer) was wrong. Their skill of testing of wiring isn’t good.

What a fantastic company a true well oiled machine. I told them my problem, they said, come on over. We'll try to help you out. When I got there, I was there for about 20 minutes. They fixed the problem and didn't even charge me. They said it was just a loose connection. Most places would have charged me. I highly recommend them.
