  Abrasive Staff & Call Center Confusion Called in this morning to check in about an oil change and was connected with the call center that let me know they had a 10:30 am drop off time available, which I booked. When I arrived to CarX, I was greeted in a negative, abbrasive manner by the front desk attendant, who told me that he could do nothing for me today, I did not speak to anyone at this location, the call center doesn't book for them (???), and I would have to come back later/another day. I explained I had just called the phone number listed (call center) and thought I was booked. The front desk person kept rudely telling me he could do nothing for me today and kept stating I spoke to no one at the location so I didn't have any booking. I then told the attendant I wanted to pause the conversation because I didn't appreciate how he was talking to me, and I was just trying to get clear information. After some more back and forth rudeness, I told the attendant to have a good day, and left the store. I was probably in the store for less than two minutes, but it was enough to know I won't use this location again for my car needs if this is how the staff wants to talk with customers. I've used this location for years, but after a staff change in the last year or two and a decline in service, I'm not sure Car-X values customers & quality care.

  Honest and knowledgeable. My daughter's car, who is away at college,had an issue which turned out to be a transmission issue. The manager called me and let me know. Didn't charge me anything. Hard to find a trustworthy shop now adays. It's comforting to know that a trustworthy business is in West Lafayette, having 2 kids at Purdue.

  Took my car here for overheating while idling and a thumping noise in the front left. Paid them to fix it, and they literally fixed nothing. Both problems are still exactly the same, so I basically paid for absolutely nothing. What’s worse is the way they treat people. Completely disrespectful, dismissive, and zero accountability. No explanation, no effort to make it right, just take your money and move on. This place feels like a straight-up scam. If you like wasting money and getting talked down to, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.
