  I booked my rental through Alamo in advance because my fiancé needed reliable transportation to travel to Ohio to pick up his children for their annual summer visitation—the only extended time he gets to spend with them each year. Our reservation was confirmed, yet when we arrived to pick up the vehicle, we were told there wasn’t one available. We had relied on Alamo’s reservation system and made important family plans around that confirmation. As a result, we had to drive our personal vehicle instead, adding hundreds of miles, premium fuel costs, and unnecessary wear and tear that we specifically rented a vehicle to avoid. What disappointed me most was that a confirmed reservation ultimately meant nothing. If Alamo cannot guarantee a vehicle will be available, customers should be informed before they make plans that depend on it. I hope Alamo and its operating partners improve their reservation management and customer communication. A reservation should provide peace of mind—not leave customers scrambling for transportation at the last minute.

  It’s impossible to leave zero stars, but don’t rent from them if you actually want a car to drive. Unreliable, unprofessional, and will leave you out to dry. Why reserve a car that doesn’t exist?

  Three calls with customer service all had very understanding representatives but I got stuck in the run around. I’m unable to contact the location with a question and got incorrect answers from every representative I spoke to.

  From check-in at South Bend International Airport to returning the vehicle, the entire process was very smooth. The agents were professional, accommodating, and provided excellent customer service throughout the experience.
