- RCRyan ClemonsOct 10, 20265.0Went to Advance Auto yesterday 10/09/2026, and the service was excellent. All I purchased was washer fluid and an air freshener, but the only washer fluid I found was one I didn't want. The gentleman behind the counter, who had initially greeted me, asked if he could help. I asked him if they had just the basic washer fluid, and contrary to the typical shopping experience where they point and tell you where something is, he walked all the way from the last register and said, "Absolutely, you want the basic blue washer fluid?" I said, "Yes, that's exactly what I was looking for." He walked all the way to it, grabbed it, and asked if there was anything else at all I needed. I said, "Nope, this is it." He then guided me to the register, checked me out, entered my number for my information, and pleasantly thanked me. I typically don't do surveys like this unless something was either really bad or exceptionally good, and this transaction was off the charts. I would hire this guy immediately for my business if it were appropriate. I'm 50, so I'm not a kid or an elderly man, and I'm not a mechanic or anything like that. I just had a quick need that made me stop because I went to get it at Walmart but forgot. Whoever this person was did an absolutely excellent job for no reason other than simply providing good service. What a breath of fresh air from the typical shopping experience these days. I wish I knew his name so I could put it in here, but simply, thank you! I will be back again based solely on this particular transaction.

They had a spell with my uncles lifetime warranty axle and I called and placed a order for a master cylinder for my Dodge truck the girl on phone said she placed the order well guess what she lied cause when I got there,,no records of it ordered plus when I got there she couldn't spell my name after I told her how it's spelled. She acts like she just got the job 5 minutes before I walked in and should go back to elementary school spelling
- SSShelbyAug 16, 20261.0Arrived to store at 7:55 and they had already locked doors. There were two people standing at the registers made eye contact with me and still didn’t open the door. Called the store they didn’t answer. I had enough time to call another store in Lafayette and they were still answering the phone. I think it’s a shame that the two ladies that were at the Monticello store decided that they were above everybody else to leave early while other stores were still handling business. I chose to go here instead of O’Reillys even though it was further. But I will never choose that again. You just lost a customer. I will always go anywhere else now.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
