  On August 28, 2026, I arrived at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car location at 703 W. Edison in Mishawaka for an 8:00 a.m. reservation. I had completed online check-in and met all of the requirements to rent using my debit card, including residing within the required 50-mile radius of the branch. Despite meeting the requirements, I was told I could not rent because I had an out-of-state driver’s license. The branch manager, Shargo, told me that renting to me was within her discretion and cited my out-of-state license as the reason for denying the rental. This was particularly concerning because Enterprise’s published debit-card policy for this location states that the renter’s address must be within 50 miles of the branch OR the driver’s license must be from the same state as the rental location. I satisfied the 50-mile requirement, along with all other applicable requirements. I have also rented from this location numerous times in the past. My concern is not simply that my family’s trip was delayed by approximately an hour. Customers should be able to rely on a company’s published policies and expect those policies to be applied consistently. When an otherwise qualified customer can be denied service at a manager’s discretion for a reason that appears inconsistent with the company’s published requirements, it raises legitimate concerns about fairness and consistency. Thankfully, my reservation was transferred to the Enterprise location in Niles, Michigan, where my experience was completely different. Jaydin, Morgan, and Jessie were AMAZING. They were professional, welcoming, patient, and immediately focused on getting my family into a vehicle and back on the road. They had nothing to do with the situation in Mishawaka, yet they took ownership of helping us and made us feel genuinely valued as customers. In today’s economy, people are careful about where they spend their hard-earned money, and employees like Jaydin, Morgan, and Jessie are the reason customers return. They exemplified the customer service Enterprise promotes, and I sincerely hope they receive recognition for how well they handled this situation. I will gladly return to the Niles location. However, I hope Enterprise reviews what occurred in Mishawaka and ensures its published rental requirements are applied consistently to every qualified customer. Customers who meet the same requirements should receive the same opportunity to rent.

  Low quality , was on the phone for an hr to are inventory … no answer … came in … mind you while phone is still ringing …. “ sorry sure we are busy … no one in the office but me . No cars available… online has 10 cars …… this place is a joke !

  I can tell you that because of the unprofessionalism of the front desk clerk, Cheryl, we won't be using enterprise ever again. Had a reservation for noon. Was there a little early and it was busy. Not an issue. Took 15min to check in, even though we did the early check in on our phone. Cheryl stated that it would be 5-7 minutes as they were currently "sterilizing" our vehicle. After waiting for 15 min I asked if they could check on the vehicle because it's been twice as long as she said it would be. She said that they were just running it through the car wash. She pointed out that they were short staffed. If they are short staffed I would have expected her to have told us that when she knew we were going to wait over 20 min for the vehicle. At that point I'm irritated and said how would I know they're short staffed. Cheryl then said she would cancel our reservation. So we agreed. If this is the quality of customer service enterprise offers then we will gladly go elsewhere. They must be too busy to care about losing customers. We should've been told our reservation wasn't going to be ready until later. She claimed there were only 2 people working, but it's funny that we saw 4 total working... All I can say is good luck.

  Had a two day rental. Very professional and speedy service. Got a free upgrade to a hybrid. Very nice almost new car. Was totally happy. Would have been 5 stars if car was cleaner. Dirty windshield and caked bugs on front of car.
