- TMT marjaiMay 13, 20261.0The tech had a hard time removing the screws holding the air filter cover with a power screwdriver, I could hear the slipping. She did get them out with a regular hand screwdriver. I checked when I got home and 3 screws were pretty well stripped and I was able to lift the cover up as the screws were only half way tightened. I ordered new screws and will replace them my self ! 😪😡

However, I was surprised to see that after paying for a premium synthetic extended-life oil service, my oil change sticker was set for only 2,900 miles. According to Hyundai’s maintenance guidance for a 2022 Kona using synthetic oil, oil change intervals are generally much longer than that, even under many driving conditions. A recommendation this short feels inconsistent with both the type of oil used and manufacturer guidance. I want to be fair here — I’m not assuming bad intent, and there may be a reason for the recommendation that wasn’t explained to me. But if there is a vehicle-specific reason for such a short interval, I would appreciate transparency and a clear explanation. Otherwise, it gives the impression of overly conservative recommendations that may not align with the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. I’m leaving this feedback respectfully because I’d like to better understand the reasoning and ensure recommendations are tailored to the actual vehicle rather than a default mileage interval.
