Rideout’s Transmission was founded by Milton (Red) Rideout (Above) in the early 1950’s. Even though it was a general repair shop, transmissions were his specialty even then. We are a fourth generation, family-owned business. Operating in the same location for well over 68 years. We repair most makes and models, automatic and standard, foreign and domestic, two and four wheel drive, front and rear wheel drive, and overdrive. We have the latest equipment and technology for testing and repairing computer-controlled transmissions and transaxles.

    Very pleased with this shop. They were able to find me a gently used transmission with significantly less miles than the one I had on my vehicle. I had minimal downtime, and when I got my vehicle back , it shifted gears like a brand new car. They also fixed a separate, minor ssue that I was having at no additional charge. I would highly recommend this shop to others.

    THE BEST !!! On the coldest day of the winter a few weeks back my transmission felt like it was slipping when I started up my car, and I instantly started thinking about the possibility of having to spend thousands of dollars to fix whatever the problem was. What a nightmare!!! After weeks of worrying and searching around for a good auto mechanic in this town (Evansville), I asked a co-worker if he could recommend a good place, and he gave me a few options. I chose the one with the best Google reviews (Rideout), and I'm so happy I did. I took my truck into Christopher today to finally get it checked out, and after doing major diagnostic tests, it turns out that my transmission is actually in good condition. I can't tell you how valuable that PEACE OF MIND is to have regarding this transmission issue. My visit today was worth every penny, and I'm so happy to recommend Rideout Transmission Repair to anyone and everyone. Give Christopher a call. Thanks again. -Dom.     Was stuck out with 2 of my grandbabies when my shifter went out. Called Chris and long story short….. he and 1 of his employees came to me. Fixed my truck and had me going in under 30 minutes. What a God send. Thank you Rideouts Transmission. Highly recommend!
