I was here on Friday, July 3, and they left an oil-covered paper towel under my hood. Luckily, I popped the hood today just to make sure they actually put more oil in and found it! See attached photo. There is also oil outside of where you pour it in, so it seems they may have spilled oil, done a crappy job of cleaning it up, and then left the paper towel under the hood. I'm not sure if this is a safety issue?
I had several other issues with this place as well. While the guys were pretty nice, they didn't do a thorough job, and I had to ask them to check basic things like my cabin air filter because I knew it had not been changed in a very long time. The guy almost seemed annoyed he was having to do it. That has always been a standard part of oil checks before since I started driving over 20 years ago. I also asked if they could check my tire pressure. I've had issues in the past where some of these quick lube places check off that they have done all these things, but they haven't actually done them. I politely asked at the end if they had checked them and the main guy asked the others, who said yes. Then the main guy a few minutes later said he is going to check them because he doesn't think they did... I ask him if they were low at all and he says no, which I find hard to believe because they hadn't been checked in a year. I asked the guy who did my oil if it was low and he said "nothing was showing on the dipstick." Well, I knew that myself, which is why I brought it in. Usually places tell me how low it was by quarts, etc. This makes me wonder if they actually drained out the old oil or not? I also have very low confidence they actually checked my fluid levels, despite them checking the boxes on the receipt. Oh, I also wasn't given a receipt and had to ask for one, to which he also seemed kind of put out by having to print me a receipt.
The last issue is they told me my engine filter compartment was "filled with nuts." I asked to see it and then had to ask if they would clean it out for me. His response was "our vacuum is downstairs." The other man then told me I could just go to a carwash and vacuum it out myself. I am a girl who knows almost nothing about cars, and I don't really feel comfortable messing around under the hood of my vehicle. Plus, I paid them $125 for the oil change, so I feel like they could have spent 2 minutes and gone and got their vacuum. I would have even paid extra for them to save me the hassle.
I guess there is a reason I had not been back to that location since 2023. I will never go back there.
