    4 stars but could've been 5. Ella...the rockstar....brought it up from what was trending towards a 2 star rating. I came into lobby. There was 1 customer being assisted by an Enterprise associate (this person was not Ella). No acknowledgement that I came in. No worries, associate was in the middle of something (altho I've waited tables and no matter how busy, I always acknowledged a newly sat table). The associate and customer leave (to get rental car I guess). Associate comes back in alone and goes behind counter typing into tablet. Completes whatever on tablet and goes back outside. Still no acknowledgement I'm there. A couple of minutes later guy who I assume works there pops in from outside and retrieves something and in passing (not looking at me) actually acknowledges I'm there with a "someone will be in to help you." Less than a minute later...Ella. Before she evens gets to the counter, she immediately says,"sorry to keep you waiting. How can I help you?" She asks my name; immediately pulls up my reso; inquires if I want to use my corp discount (not this time, it is a personal rental); apologizes for not having a SUV but offers a choice of a couple of vehicles...one being a Quattro...nice! Sets me up with the car; does a walk around with me, confirms fuel return level and gets me on my way. An outstanding experience once Ella stepped in (she even directed me to where I could park the car I arrived in and explained it was no issue). To my surprise and benefit, when I returned the next day...Ella was there. Needless to say check out/return was fast, simple and pleasant. Ella definitely turned what looked like a dour experience into a positive one. Ella was positive, thorough, helpful and genuinely appeared to enjoy her job. It made the difference.

    I rented a vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A-Car on March 6th for a trip to Destin, and was provided with a Volkswagen Taos. We departed at approximately 3:00 AM on March 7th. Shortly after beginning our trip, it became clear that the vehicle was unsafe to operate at highway speeds. It was unstable when encountering potholes or normal road imperfections, making it difficult to maintain control. Given the road conditions in Indiana and the fact that we were driving in the dark for several hours, avoiding these hazards was not always possible. In addition, the vehicle had defective speakers, producing significant distortion and rattling at low volume levels (above level 10), rendering the audio system largely unusable. After arriving in Destin, we promptly went to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Fort Walton the following day to exchange the vehicle due to these issues. At that time, we specifically pointed out existing scratches and windshield chips on the replacement vehicle. The employee acknowledged these pre-existing conditions and confirmed they would not be an issue. Despite this, I have now received notice that a $500 claim for a cracked windshield has been submitted to my insurance. This is unacceptable. I have clear video documentation from the time of pickup that shows the pre-existing windshield damage, and I am fully prepared to provide this evidence. Filing a claim with my insurance without any prior communication is both inappropriate and unwarranted. At a minimum, I should have been contacted to discuss the alleged damage before any claim was initiated. Had that occurred, I would have immediately provided proof demonstrating that the damage was pre-existing. I expect this claim to be withdrawn promptly after review of the evidence. Please confirm that this matter is being corrected and that no further action will be taken with my insurance provider.
