Buying a car is usually stressful, awkward, and full of the typical “let me talk to my manager” games, but our experience at McGrath Acura was honestly the complete opposite. I recently upgraded from my 2015 Hyundai Veloster after 11 years, and this was by far the most straightforward and least stressful car buying experience I’ve ever seen.
Mark Coote, our salesperson, was amazing from the start. My parents originally stopped in a month earlier just to pre-screen the dealership before bringing me in, and Mark immediately stood out because he was so down to earth and genuinely easy to talk to. No pressure, no pushy sales tactics, nothing fake. He even lives near my parents, so the whole interaction felt comfortable and familiar instead of transactional. During the test drive, he was informative without overdoing it and made the entire experience relaxed and enjoyable.
What impressed me even more was how patient and respectful everyone was with my dad, who is originally from Poland and has a very thick accent. Communication can sometimes be difficult, but both Mark and Sky in finance handled everything with total professionalism and kindness. Sky especially deserves credit because finance departments are usually where the awkward upselling and pressure starts, but he made it surprisingly easy. He broke down every number exactly how my dad asked, explained the warranty and maintenance package honestly, and even worked to get us a better rate like he promised. At no point did we feel pressured into anything.
They also gave us a fair trade-in value on an Audi that had been a complete nightmare mechanically, and for once we walked away feeling like we got a genuinely fair deal instead of feeling worn down.
The craziest part is that the very first car they showed me ended up being the one I bought — a beautiful silver Acura Integra with black rims and a sunroof I wasn’t even expecting. At the end of the night, the team stayed almost two hours past closing to finish everything up, and Mark still took the time to help put on my plates and set up my phone with the car’s navigation and music system. I never once felt rushed.
Honestly, the whole experience felt less like dealing with salespeople and more like hanging out with people who genuinely cared about helping us. Huge thanks to Mark, Sky, and the team at McGrath Acura.
