- HDH DMar 6, 20261.0College girls beware. The guy working tonight was extremely pushy, desperate, and disrespectful. "Are you single?" No. "Do you wish you were single?" No?!? Ew "If you were single, would you be interested?" Absolutely not. He would not stop pushing uncomfortable questions in the parking lot tonight, while using some nasty wanna-be sultry tone. Dude, I am not asking for help as a form of flirtation, I am asking for help because this is Advance Auto Parts!! He was telling me I "seem like a really chill, sweet person." That's a LOT to derive from "Hello, where is the 0W-50?" Also, his first question was if I go to college around here, using that creepy flirtatious tone. Dude, you are 40. I would rather go to Walmart for oil moving forward, and that says a lot.

That one was replaced but I had to deal with the battery acid. The second time was today - I just came in for a gas cap and it does not fit my car. I looked up the part online and the one my vehicle needs is one number different from the one they handed me. Genuinely haven't had these issues at other Advanced Auto Parts in the area.

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
