  Went for a simple oil change. I was from out of state and had to get one. When I returned to my hotel, I noticed the smell of burning oil coming from under the hood. I found the oil fill cap sitting above my grill and oil sprayed all over my engine. The tech had not replaced the cap. This could've cost me an engine and left me and my family stranded on the interstate. I don't recommend this shop and will NOT return there. Oil change is the simplest thing for a tech. You had ONE JOB. The manager DID, however, clean the mess up and top off the oil when I brought it back the next morning. Still don't trust them, though.

  Dave and staff were phenomenal today! They squeezed me in for a tire repair when two other garages told me it would be days before I could get in. They were friendly, thorough, efficient, and the service was affordable. Kudos, CarX! You got me back on the road and back to peace of mind.

  I brought my 2001 Mustang GT into the shop to have a set of flowmaster style mufflers welded in. I previously had them do the same job on my 2002 Mustang GT years ago and they had no issues with it. They literally tucked the old pipes inside of the new mufflers and welded around them. I was there early, the older mechanic pulled the car into the bay, got under it, pulled the muffler out, and pulled it right off of the lift. He came outside and said ,” the inlets/outlets are “like” 3” on the new mufflers, your stock pipes are “like” 1.75” wide, and the new mufflers are too short. He didn’t let me say anything, he just handed me the keys and walked away. None of what he said is true. The factory mufflers are 17” from end to end before the pipes start, STOCK Mustang GT exhaust pipes are 2.25” wide, and my new mufflers have inlet/outlets of 2.5” wide. The new mufflers are actually longer than the stock muffler at 19” long. Mind you, they have done this install before. I drive it to another shop 5 minutes away and they had it done in an hour. They literally just cut the muffler off at each end of the muffler leaving as much pipe as possible, and welded the new mufflers into place by tucking the stock pipe and into the new muffler outlets and welding around it. The SAME exact thing this shop did last time! I’m convinced this was more of a “I don’t want to do it” vs a “I can’t do this here, you need to go to a specialty shop.” I would NOT recommend going here to have any mufflers welded in. Other services, I’m sure they are okay, but aftermarket mufflers…..never.

  Told them I wanted my alignment checked out, they later called with a $4,000 estimate, I then took it to a mechanic I trust. He just tightened the ball joints and fixed the $4,000 issue they told me about. I do still need an alignment done at the end of the day but the issue they brought to me was not worth 4 grand. I will say on my behalf I did tell them I wasn’t familiar with wheel alignment but I don’t think that gives justification to try to screw someone over.
