I was referred to this shop for an AC performance check. After looking at my vehicle, I was told I needed an AC recharge and was given a price. I agreed to the service and paid for the recharge. Once it was completed, I was then told my AC was still blowing hot air and that I would need a diagnostic test for an additional $165.
My question is: why wasn't the diagnostic performed before recommending and charging me for a recharge? If the recharge wasn't going to fix the issue, that should have been determined first. It felt like I was being asked to spend more and more money without getting a clear answer about the actual problem.
I specifically expressed concerns about being upsold when I first arrived and was assured that wouldn't happen. Unfortunately, that's exactly how this experience felt. I left disappointed and without confidence that my concerns were being handled honestly.
