I entered the Tinley Park AutoZone around 8:55pm on July 6, well before the posted 9pm closing. There were other customers inside. At 9:01pm the cashier rang up my item, I paid $20 cash, received a printed receipt, and was handed the product.
> Minutes later the manager approached, said the system was closed, and instructed the cashier to void the transaction. I clearly stated I did not consent to a refund and that the sale was already complete. Despite my objection, the manager processed a refund and took the product back.
> I accepted the cash only to avoid a confrontation, but I told the manager I believed this was improper. She replied it was not.
> The cashier was professional and did their job correctly. My issue is with a manager overriding a completed, paid sale after hours without customer agreement. If your policy is to stop sales at 9pm, that needs to happen at the register before payment — not by cancelling a customer’s purchase after the fact.
> I’m posting this so corporate can review the practice. Transaction time is on both receipts (sale 9:01pm, void a few minutes later

Joe at the Orland/Tinley location went above and beyond for us for my daughter my 17 year-old daughter making sure her car is working properly needed a tail light he came out and put a tail light in for us and excellent customer service awesome personality great guy I highly recommend Joe

AMAZING staff! I called on a Friday evening asking if they had 4 fuel injectors in stock because I planned to swap them out the next morning. They only had 1, but I was willing to drive around to other locations to get the rest of them, so Heaverly quickly set me up with an order that would allow me to prepay at this Tinley location so that the other locations would have it ready for pick-up when I got there. There ended up being some confusion at one of the locations and they were not very willing to help troubleshoot even though they should have been able to. At this point, it felt like I was racing the clock before the remaining locations closed, but the second I called the Tinley location for help, Emma made some calls and had it resolved allowing me to complete my mission!
On top of this location's efficiency, they get brownie points for also being a very welcoming & friendly environment because you don't always get that feeling at car shops. Emma was genuinely interested in hearing how it went with the fuel injectors, and on my most recent visit, I enjoyed a conversation I had with an older gentleman (I didn't catch his name) about our rescue pets! Though this isn't my nearest location, it definitely is now my favorite!

I want to shoutout the young man working today, April 27th 2026 around 5:00pm named Vinny. I had a lot of questions that were probably silly, but he was extremely kind and informative in helping me out today. He looks very young, and it’s hard to find respectful and good help in the service industry sometimes, so for being so young and so knowledgeable on cars, while being extremely friendly to me, he deserves recognition for sure!! 10/10 employee!
